The 18th arrondissement, located on the Rive Droite (Right Bank), is mostly known for hosting the district of Montmartre, which contains a hill dominated by the Sacré Cœur basilica, as well as the famous Moulin Rouge. The 18th arrondissement also contains the African and North African district of Goutte d'Or which is famous for its market, the marché Barbès, where one can find various products from that continent.

The 18th Arrondissement is in the Montmartre area and it's star of the show is the Sacre Coeur and the hill top location overlooking Paris. Absolutely wonderful area.

This area is accessed by getting off of line 12 at Pigalle or Abbesses Metros. If your planning to go to Sacre Coeur your better off arriving at Abbesses because it's higher and closer to the Funicular which is an easy way of getting up...More

Dominate this Arrondissement along with great skyline views and views over Paris. Despite the tacky souvenirs and street hawkers it remains one of the nicest areas of Paris to wander around. 1868.

I used to live here and loved my time in this northern district full of little villages. The big attraction is Montmartre with its charming hilly streets, views & great architecture. But there is so much more including some diverse immigrant quarters.
