A visit to Centre Pompidou wasn't even on our list of things to do when we visited Paris in February. Our mistake: this is a spectacular venue for contemporary art and film, with much to enjoy. We found everything we needed to know at www.centrepompidou.fr.

Not relevant to all visitors but after having had my camera bag checked by front door security and having spent €26 on two tickets, I was advised by 'the ticket collector' that I couldn't take my camera bag into the centre. Instead I was told...More

Had an advance ticket for the Pompidou but probably didn't need it. Just visited the modern art collection on the top floors; it was well displayed and comprehensive if lacking any particularly famous painting. Didn't do the Cubism exhibition on the first floor but only...More

I spent an enjoyable few hours here with my six-year-old. The children's gallery may be small but there were lots of pieces that captured his imagination in the main galleries. He was awestruck by the building itself and we rode the escalators to the top...More

I've been to Paris 12 times in the past 20 years. I love going to the Centre Pompidou for an immersive modern art experience. Everything from Cy Twombly to Matisse...sculptures to paintings. When I'm done with the art for awhile, I go out to Igor...More

Always a stunning edifice in Paris, so out of the ordinary. They put up marvelous shows year-round, you cannot miss, no matter when you visit. My last trip included photos by an author from the post-war era that I did not know was into photography,...More

The Centre Pompidou building itself is unusual. It is as if turned inside out with metal structuresinstead of the fasad. From the upper floors there is a biautiful view of Paris. On the square in front of the museum many people rest and sit right...More

Lovely place. Unfortunately let down by petit bureaucracy, such as not being avle to eat own food anywhere inside the building. Exhibit space is too narrow for exhibitions meaning people walk straight in front of those trying to view the exhibits. This lets down certain...More

I first visited the Centre Georges-Pompidou in 1977 ie I drove past looking at an almost finished building. It took 41 years before I corrected this major error. Not only does it house the national collection of modern art, it has the most breathtaking view...More
