Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just to update: though we were unable to go to the museum as the available time wasn’t good for us (conflicting with other booked tours) I called the number and the curator answered within 2 rings.
Very polite. You should call during opening hours.
Make sure you have the correct phone number. We are from Canada so needed to include the international calling code
You would enter the following
+33 1 43 55 52 72 (on iPhone press and hold the 0 to get the + sign).
I initially made the mistake and entered 0 after the 33 and got the wrong number recording. To avoid disappointment, please enter the phone number correctly.
Though we missed visiting the museum, contrary to other reviews, we had a positive experience trying to get an appointment.

Well where to start? I have phoned the number several times before going there. No answer. After arriving to the location, I’ve been told by some random people that you have to book before visit. Called the number again and finally I got through some gentleman who didn’t speak English at all.
So unless you speak French or have someone with you who speaks the language you won’t be able to visit the Edith Piaf museum.

This small museum is the apartment where Edith Piaf lived when she was discovered. It's open Monday-Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and appointments are required. The guide was very informative. He speaks a little English, and the tour was primarily in French (which I speak). There is no admission fee and donations are appreciated. It's not in a good part of town (not surprising) and we were there a little less than an hour. If you are interested in the life of Edith Piaf, I would recommend a visit to this museum.

The experience of setting up this visit and making it to the "museum" is all part of the adventure! Most definitely a Paris "off the beaten track" experience for Edith Piaf enthusiasts and, if successful, I assure you, you will be very pleased with yourself. As others have explained, one must first make a telephone call to set up your appointment time to visit. We lucked out - the phone was answered immediately (I've read others have had problems) and, because of other reviews of just what to expect, I was prepared. No way to get around that some knowledge of French is required for setting up the appointment and also for the further instructions you receive to get up into the apartment once you've arrived at the building. The very welcoming gentleman's "tour" of the two small rooms filled with Edith Piaf memorabilia is also in French - though he spoke slowly and simply as he pointed things out to me. Three French visitors were there when my college-aged daughter and I arrived. I was absolutely thrilled to see them to be honest - this was without a doubt the sketchiest adventure on our itinerary! The three beamed at us as we came in and we did the same when another small group arrived. You truly feel like you are part of a secret club! No admission fees, but a small donation is requested. Well worth a visit for Edith Piaf admirers up for an adventure - and who realize getting there is part of this fun and somewhat unusual museum experience.

Phoned number but message says not recognised. We went anyway but no one there. Such a shame and also 3 other people outside hopeful. The Musee plaque is still on the wall. So disappointed.

Rang to make an appointment. The museum is closed from 1 - 20 August. The information on the website is from 2017. Be wary if you're planning a trip to Paris. We'll miss it.

These two small rooms of a Piaf fan's apartment are chock full of photos, memorabilia, gold records, dresses and furniture of Miss Piaf. Monsieur, who does not speak English, is happy to have fans view the memorabilia and to leave an offering in appreciation. Be aware that about 8 people are allowed in at a time (every 30 minutes) so there is very little room to turn around and view all. Worth the trip for fans of Edith Piaf. You must reserve in advance for limited viewing times on certain days of the week. When you reserve, you are given the building entry code.

This small museum is one of those gems that is hidden away in big cities. It is really for diehard Edith Piaf fans. You have to make a phone call to book and it is only open three afternoons. On phoning you will get the code for the door and there is a small life to the flat although we used the stairs. The museum is tiny but to see Edith Piaf's tiny dresses and her shoes and other artifacts is really worth the visit. There is no charge. There is a plate for gratuities and for me, a great fan, this was a very moving visit. Do not expect a glossy museum - its simplicity is its joy. We loved it.

If you are a fan, what a great place to visit. We found the apartment only to discover that you needed reservations. We called the number, and luckily the curator answered and let us in. He gave us great information ( French only!) and we got to see some momentos of someone whose music we have had the pleasure of enjoying. It is not fancy, and not well known, but for those that enjoy untraditional local offerings and not merely focused on what everyone else wants to do, this will be a great addition to your unique list of things to see and will make your soul happy. Only the true fans will understand the significance of the devotion of this curator!!

Call telephone number 33 1 43 55 52 72. Be prepared to try several times. Eventually you will get to speak to the man who runs the museum. He will confirm the date you want to go and the time - he will give you two codes. One for the front door and one for the second door - there is a small lift to the apartment. This is a small place and is part of a larger apartment but if you are a fan it is a nice visit. He does not charge but accepts a small donation and he does have cards and other small things for sale. Hope you manage to get there and enjoy it.

I and my cousin will be in Paris from Thurs. Apr. 8, leaving Mon. Apr. 13. I have been to Paris numerous times during the 80s and 90s and have been a fan of Edith Piaf since I first learned of her in my high school French class 1962-63, shortly before her death. Since that time I've collected many pieces of her music, vinyl, tapes, CDs, documentaries, books, photos, etc. I never made a trip to Paris without visiting her grave site and placing flowers which I intend to do this trip as well. In '94 I made a visit to the private museum which was a highlight for me of all my trips to paris.
What I would like to ask now is this - during the short time I will be there in a liltle more than a week, are there any recommendations anyone may have to see any performers who carry on her music? I would appreciate any suggestions.
