Viewed from a bus tour several times the Notre Dame Cathedral rang its bells and took out breathe away, well worth a visit , we couldnt this tine but plan to do so at the next visit.

You can take the backpack with you. They will ask you to open and check at the gates. We had backpack, they checked and let us in. Not a problem. You an keep it with you all through out the tour after that.

Yes, you can take a backpack. They will ask to look inside it though. Enjoy, It's a beautiful place.
