I must confess to having no idea who John Moore was, I do now! Quirky three storey small museum of natural history with local artefacts. Lots of stuffed animals and birds (all of whom died naturally or by accident!). More interesting is the Tudor Shop...More

On a three day visit to the town, this museum was almost directly opposite the hotel where I was staying, so not to have looked and would have felt churlish. A real little gem. A mixture of exhibits with interesting descriptions, exemplifying the life's work...More

Been to Tewkesbury many times and walked past this place, which, apart from being a historic building, never tempted inside, being unsure of whether it was a very 'public' place due to its sleepy almost unoccupied appearance. But it turned out to be quite a...More

Beautifully restored building with lots to discover about John Moore and the countryside around Tewkesbury. Don't miss the Secret Garden.

The building alone is something special, amongst the oldest in Tewkesbury. The first set of stairs were a little tricky for my mom, but the second set were much easier for her to manage. Having grown up about 7 miles away, I found all the...More

The day I went, there were several folks standing outside knocking on the door. It was well past opening time, but I went away and came back an hour later. Still closed. One gentleman, still there, had come a long way to visit. The sign...More

This is a fascinating museum in a very old building full of interesting facts. There is also a secret garden and an old chapel still with its baptism pool. William Shakespeare's sisters are buried in the chapel grounds.

Plenty of specimens to look at of birds and animals in an interesting museum setting in an old building
