Hi Steve Thanks for your excellent review. It's good to hear from someone who doesn't have a "huge interest in steam' but nevertheless enjoyed the experience. Admission is free and we are "in Steam' on 28 and 29th December. Please come.

A fabulous collection of steam engines under one roof. This is a must visit if you are in the area and are interested in late 19th century and early 20th industrial engineering. The volunteers working here are very helpful and have great stories to tell.

A beatiful collection of steam engines used in the textile industry. Every engine is well maintained and the halls are spic and span. The volunteers are eager to tell you everything about the engines and what they were used for.

The museum is open in steam most bank holidays and every Sunday and Wednesday. When we are not in steam but will be happy to run some of the engines electrically.
