The ruins of this Friary are completely surrounded by ugly modern building, rather a shame. You still get a sense of history from the ruins but its no Tintern Abbey.

lovely to walk around here and see the history and a few photo opportunities too worth a visit. Good eating places and cafes near by and the town is good to walk around as well.

These ruins are quite difficult to find, and when we did find them we were somewhat disappointed. There are some ruined walls and very little else. We couldn't even find any information panels about the building.

love coming here to this lovely medieval building. don't come often depends if it is open or if there is an event here. Just enjoy the surroundings and imaginings of days gone by.

Kept the kids entertained. That is all I need in a day out. Spent the whole day there and enjoyed every second.

Not to be confused with the nearby Blackfriars Monastery, which has substantially more remains, a bit of a garden, and at least being restored. My quick tour of the remaining bits of Greyfriars was much curtailed, due to the safety fences still surrounding the site....More
