We were so lucky to get to Galway Bay just as the sun was shining. The landscape is beautiful. More shades of green than you can count. Don't miss the bay.

Galway Bay is lovely. The town is gorgeous. The promenade out at Salthill was too windy for us to really enjoy but it would be great on a less windy day. We enjoyed the Wild Atlantic Way Drive.

Beautiful bay. Firefighters were practising their life saving drills in the river - something unusual (& entertaining) to see!

Galway Bay is beautiful. We had the pleasure of stopping to view it from higher ground and since it was a nice day, we were treated with a great view. Also nice up close, but the far away view was much more picturesque.

If you are continuing on to the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, etc. You will find it interesting to note that the route will (weather permitting) to see all the way back to Galway!

Galway Bay has some of the best views, as long as your on the right side. We walked along the bay area towards our room at the Harbor Hotel. Once around the corner from the pretty houses is a large pile of trash. The city...More

We enjoyed walking and driving along the bay. Caught the sunset on a glorious evening in August which caused us to break out in song.

So, you leave party-ville, the Latin Quarter, and walk to the bay. Aaaaah, serene. There still may be the random guitar or conga player but people are spread out. The ocean is gorgeous, little sailing vessels and other boats are just so quaint. Go out...More

From the center of Galway City not very far. When you just walk down the shopping street (Quay Street) you are nearly there.

I visited Irlande last summer with 2 friends. We were on foot. Just a warning, bus and train are expensive (compared to prices in France I mean). Of course you have to go to the Cliffs of Moher !! We stopped in Doolin, a... More

We only stayed one day and an half in Galway but the city is great. We've made a walk around the lakes of the Connemara National Park. Very beautiful !!
