This is Glasgow's busiest railhead, with local and cross border services. Two levels with some services going underground. Platforms 1 to 4 for most England bound trains. Shops and bars on forecourt. Toilets are clean but a fee is charged. Buses and taxis are available...More

A large and beautifully designed station which evokes memories of the golden age of steam. Architecturally arresting with high ornate roofs over a large concourse. Tours of the 'hidden station' are available and are recommended. There are restaurants, a bar, an associated hotel and the...More

This is one of the most gorgeous train station I have encountered. It is impressive from afar and stunning from the inside. It is well designed and very clean. Our hotel was practical next door. We did not travel by train, though. Hence; we had...More

I use this station a lot and I think it's probably the better of the 2 main stations in Glasgow. It's big, and everything is pretty easy to find. One thing that would be good is if it had signs to say which platforms generally...More

Next time, I will take one of the behind-the-scenes tours of this amazing building. Note: the tours require sensible footwear -- closed toes and no heels. Book online. Both for scale and detail, this beautifully-designed space deserves a long visit. This time, sadly, I was...More

We commuted twice at this station. It was easy to access, connect with local public transport and obtain information plus tickets. But the real joy came from the visual experience of people watching and architectural gems featured in the many facets. Shutterbugs should look up...More
