Queen Street is the major terminal in Glasgow for trains to the East and North.
It is currently under renovation as it has been for a number of years. The renovation means that space in the concourse is limited and ticket sales are in a...More
With the construction work still continuing, and it has been for as long as I can remember?!?!?! (when will it end) It not means that there is only one entrance and exit from the station, this being the main one that heads out onto Buchanan...More
The smaller of the 2 main stations in Glasgow and the third busiest railway station in Scotland. It's hard to believe that after nearly 2 years of work the refurbishment of this train station is still ongoing. Hopefully the work will complete on schedule on...More
Myself and mum went to Glasgow on 30th November we got the train there as we had never got the train to Glasgow before it was a beautiful Journey. Queen Street Station is a very nice station hope to get back there soon.
With the extensive refurbishments being undertaken, the exits are restrictive with only having main entrance. Ticket office is outside and opposite to side entry. Again, as the building work is being carried out, there is a reduced amount of retail concession outlets.

It's a while since I was there and perhaps the renovations have been done now, maybe making the station bigger. But while I was there, this is a relatively small station and well lit. There is/was only one large central waiting area in front of the actual railway lines. Several rail employees were visible at all times assisting with enquiries and tickets. I couldn't highlight anything that would make me consider the station unsafe.
You don't need to book ahead on these trains. Why not go to Buchanan St Bus Station instead. Buses to Edinburgh are more frequent and less expensive. There is Engineering works on the Railways plus the fact you'll see more... More
