This was built in the 1990s and is based on an unsuccessful plan Rennie Mackintosh put forward for a competition in Germany. It's set in attractive parkland and is really very impressive, the simple style contrasting with the exotic exuberance of other buildings in Glasgow...More

Bringing to life Macintosh's works. Although modern it typifies what the man was all about. Set in nice gardens within a large park. Great on a summer day when you you want t escape the sun for a while

Following visits to other Mackintosh places this was a real disappointment. Nothing seems original and the house is run as a commercial venture rather than a tribute to Mackintosh. When we arrived they were preparing for a wedding therefore the main part of the house...More

A striking building set in a beautiful grounds (Bellahouston park) and with an exquisite interior. I wanted to move in (as I'm sure others did too). An absolute triumph of design and construction by all those involved. I would happily have stayed there for hours

I have been here several times but the best was attending a wedding. The original macintosh designs are incredible and the restaurant is excellent too.

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful house and it was set up for a Wedding - what a stunning venue. Lovely cafe with great homemade cakes. A most enjoyable visit.

I didn't know the story behind this house before I arrived there and started listening to the audio guide. I had no idea it was a Mackintosh design that wasn't built until the 1980s/1990s and finished in 1996! I wanted to cry after I walked...More

Check their website as it does weddings also and the exhibition changes its opening times upto a week at a time. The cafe has separate opening times and is open to the public more frequent.

Sorry I can answer your question. I was leading a tour, which means the bus driver got us there, with the help of a local who served as a private guide. I bet it's really beautiful there now that summer has arrived. Enjoy!
