Family day out
Sep 2021 • Family
Great place to go out with the children. Museum is more interesting for adults than children, but there is a huge park around the building, with fantastic playground and woods.

Excellent museum
Sep 2021
Very good food and service in the tea room and the nauseum was excellent if a little disorientating. Good walks round the lake. And it was all free!

Beautiful building, museum & grounds.
Aug 2021 • Family
I visited with my family on a light rainy morning. However the grounds are vast and there are plenty of lovely walks and trails to follow whilst admiring the beautiful building and lawns.

Once inside (free entry) my family made our way around the numerous exhibits. We really enjoyed the Roman section and the Kitchen. There is so much to see. The museum was very clean and tidy.

My family booked a table in the tearoom online the night before so that after arriving at 10am we could enjoy a nice drink and some food. I was worried that the tearoom would be very busy but luckily I think we missed the lunchtime rush. Staff were polite, friendly and spoke to us during our time in the tearoom. We enjoyed sandwiches, coffee and cakes in beautiful surroundings.

There really is something for everyone to enjoy. My 9 year old daughter enjoyed following the Wally Dug trail.

In all we spent over 3 hours on site and really enjoyed our visit. I would certainly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

What a find
Aug 2021
A friend who lives in Falkirk recommended this place to us,so pleased she did,we visited twice as the house is so big to see in one day, best part ,all free too.
There is a lift too ,for disabled people like me this was a bonus as it allowed me to see all 3 floors.
The grounds seem to go on forever & are so well kept, well done to everyone that run this place.

Interesting house
Aug 2021 • Couples
Visited this park before but never been in the house until now. Just turned up and it was quiet so was able to leave our details and head on in. The cafe was shut unfortunately but we wandered round the house. It had some interesting exhibits. Good to see how the house changed over the years. It has a shop by the exit. Free to enter. Worth a visit. Surrounded by a lovely park.

A lovely wooded walk
Apr 2021
The house it’s self in closed at the moment. Callander House has the most wonderful grounds. Met our daughter son in law and grandchildren there for a walk. None of us could remember ever being there before. As it was during COVID we went for the long walk which took us about 1.5 hours. We hardly saw anyone else and got marvellous views from the top of the hill to the forth and Grangemouth in the distance.

However when we eventually got back down to the park area the playground was full of children and adults. Which would have been fine in normal circumstances but because of COVID we went on our way. It is a must to visit again in the future.

My review is for the tea room. My family and I had an afternoon tea and it was fantastic. We asked for vegan food and we were not disappointed. Staff super kind and stunning location. Super recommended!
