La Belle Angele, the venue originally formed in the early nineties and which for over a decade stood at the forefront of underground art, music and clubbing culture, was famously destroyed in the Cowgate fire on December 8, 2002. 12 years later the institution that once played host to live performances by the likes of Oasis, Radiohead and The Libertines has been rebuilt and returned!

First visit to La Belle Angele. It's a small intimate venue where you really feel you get close to the artist you're there to see. We were lucky enough to be near the front. Bar was expensive but this is often expected at venues like...More

Excellent band , Great Gig and good venue . The only thing that spoiled this was the bar closed at 10.00 . The band was in full swing with at least 20 minutes to play. I didn't realize that the temperance society had restarted. There...More

Hi Laura, We did receive your email and have responded so I apologise if this hasn't come through. With regards to the timings of the show, we ourselves were unhappy with the scheduling for this very reason. We mentioned to the entourage that the stage...More

This was a great venue for the gig I was at. It felt very intimate with the bands. The toilets are very different in that they have chipboard cubicles and pipe looking taps, fits with the feel of the place though. The staff were friendly...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
