Our school group recently took a tour of Belfast with Joe via bus. He took us to the Divis tower and told us his personal story. We also went to see the walls constructed during the troubles and the beautiful murals that depict those that lost their lives. I wish we had scheduled Joe much longer than we had, his story was riveting, harrowing and more than anything full of hope for the future. We did not know the details behind the troubles and was very informative. Definitely make sure you book Joe and do this tour. It will certainly be a highlight of your trip. Wonderful storyteller and really makes you feel like we’re there, experiencing all of the difficult troubles yourself.

Unbelievable and nothing like we expected! The tour covered multiple parts of the city and we expected grafeti type murals. WOW, what a suprise. Each area was different and fascinating. Well worth the time and fare for the tour.

We had an amazing day with Joe! It was fascinating to hear his first hand experiences during the troubles. We visited the Giant's Causeway, the Dark Hedges, and hiked the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge. Joe was easy to communicate with beforehand, arrived on time, and returned us to port in plenty of time. He even took care of lunch reservations for us! I would not hesitate to book with him again.

Joe was our guide. He’s an absolute gem of a human. He shares the hard truth of his lived experience during the Troubles. He’s charming, funny, and explains the history of Belfast and Northern Ireland well. Highly recommend to learn this history.

Booked this tour so far in advance to include airport collection, then messed them around due to continual changing of our flight times with original flight cancelled then on the day delays etc. Joe couldn't have been more accommodating for which we were so appreciative. The tour was incredible, passionate, knowledgeable and one of (if not 'the') highlight of our trip to Belfast. We learned so much, gained a new appreciation and understanding and Joe simply has a gift for the telling of the stories/information which is priceless. Highly recommended tour, a good 90 minutes seeing parts of the city, hearing tales etc that you don't see or hear doing generic tours such as the hop on/off busses that skim the areas we visited. Book Joe, you won't regret it.

This was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had the privilege of being part of! Joe picked me up at my hotel very early in the morning and took me on a private tour of the Giants Causeway, Old Bushmills Distillery and Dunluce Castle.

I’ve traveled a lot and this by far was the best, most thorough, enlightening adventure I’ve been able to take part in.

Joe was phenomenal, he shared so much about his life, the history and rich heritage of both medieval and modern Ireland, as well as sharing his family history intertwined with the politics of the region.

If you had to choose one thing to do in Northern Ireland, I would highly recommend that you choose to call Joe and Belfast Mural Tours, it is an experience of a lifetime.

We booked a private 2 hour tour of the murals and the “Peace Wall” with an amazing guide, Geordie O’Neill, who grew up in the vicinity and whose home was burned out during the worst of the troubles, He tells the history and explains the current situation between Protestants and Catholics in an unforgettable and extremely well-informed manner, with a fine Irish sense of humor as well as deep personal connection to the events he discusses. His van is a spotless new Mercedes that could seat up to six, maybe seven, but it’s spacious and very comfortable for two. And his prices are very reasonable. We enjoyed his company so much that we booked a drive with him to the Giants’ Causeway, another informative and seamless experience. We recommend him without hesitation. Find him at the N.I. Black Taxi, Belfast. Ask for him.

We did the 1.5 hour private mural tour. We had an absolutely amazing tour with our guide Billy. We were very grateful to be collected from the front door of our hotel and he was very punctual picking us up. He provided us with a wealth of knowledge throughout the whole tour. He was very accomodating during the tour, allowing us to choose whether we wanted to sit in or out of the taxi. His first hand accounts of his time growing up in Belfast provided some very special touches that left us feeling as though we were in very good hands. He provided a depth of information without overloading us and we left feeling mesmerised. He also went above and beyond by providing us with printed photos to look at whilst he spoke to us about the events that took place. We couldn’t fault him at all and we are only sad we didn’t decide to do the longer tour as 1.5 hours only scratched the surface. Thank you so much Billy!

We had an amazing experience with our guide, Billy, as he drove us around Belfast teaching us about the Troubles and its impact on life in Belfast. He really brought it to life with his knowledge, passion and we were enthralled the entire time. We had requested an impartial guide (neither Protestant or Catholic) but Billy was strongly Catholic. We appreciated his honesty and professionalism and we learned more than we ever expected to. Thank you for a wonderful and inspiring experience.

Our guide for the tour was Billy, and from the moment we jumped into his cab until we left him at the end of the tour we were in rapt attention. Billy explained all the stories and history in great detail (so much detail that we ran nearly 30 mins over!) and really made it come alive. We came away from the tour with a huge amount of new knowledge and a better understanding of the history of the Troubles. Would highly recommend this tour to everyone!
