If you take dogs you aren’t allowed through the central reservation which if fair enough as the birds need protecting. You need to go to the visitor centre to pay for a token for parking charge was only 80p as we got there after 1pm....More

Walking the WCP this is an ideal place to leave the car. The loos are great and so is the cafe. If you are a RSPB member you park free too. Friendly helpful people. Terrific day out for twitchers.

Lovely safe place to walk dogs and nice relaxing coffee shop Good views of the river. If you want to walk through the middle of the Wetlands you can’t take dogs but there is a long walk around the border you can still see wildlife.

We were here on a group visit and were well hosted by the RSPB. There is no entrance fee so the car parking charge of £3.00 per car seems a very modest charge to make to help them in their considerable work, so vital to...More

Safe yes but quite a long ride! I would guess about 5 miles. You could get a bus from the bus station which is about a 5 min walk from the train station!
