The grave itself is nothing special but it does feature the story which is very poignant and it's more the fact that it's a reason to draw you across the field away from the amazing river and to enjoy the views from a different angle....More

Visited with two young children on a damp November afternoon. Lovely short walk through the village and along the river to the grave and house. Wouldn’t be particularly significant to those who don’t know the story but as I’d heard it since school I found...More

went to see it, saw it, left! dog had a good run in the excellent field walks by the river which were safe for dog walks even if they go in the river which is fast flowing but very shallow and safe

Only takes a couple of minutes to get there from the village. Just a tree with a plaque in the middle of a field.

I had never heard about Gelert until my partner brought me here while on a tour of wales using Welsh Highland Railway. Such a sad story but a lovely one to the memory of a loyal family dog ❤️

It’s around a 10-15 walk from the car park to the grave. The walk along the river is beautiful and the town is charming. Make sure you go to the stone monument beyond the grave for photos with the statue of Gelert as this could...More

This is a nice short walk to the grave with some interesting history. The path is easy to walk and it's not far from the village centre where you can indulge in a tasty ice cream.

We found the lovely village of Beddgelert on our trip home from Anglesey, I had visited the grave of the dog Gelert some 55 years ago and always remembered the story behind the Gelert. We were so pleased that we managed to find the village...More
