As with other reviews, the visitor centre was closed on a busy Friday in August during the times when it should have been open. The lack of decent information boards around the ruins made it very difficult to connect structures with what they would have...More

The Segontium Roman Fort date’s to 80AD and is about a kilometres walk from Caernarfon Castle In Caernarfon - just follow the signs through the town square. You cannot see too much of this ruin as it is fenced off and from a distance looks...More

Had a quick look around whilst staying in Caernarfon. The visitor centre wasn't open when we went, which was a pity. It just lacked a few information boards to let you know what you were loooking at.

We were expecting something to the standard of English Heritage's Wroxeter. Instead, we wandered around looking for the entrance. The visitor centre times showed it opened at 10.00 - but there was no sign of it opening by 10.30. The broken windows at the back...More

On the edge of Caernarfon, this historic site is interesting and contains well-preserved wall bases. We walked around a bit, but were disappointed that the visitor's center was closed and no great signage was available to explain the site thoroughly. This is only a few...More
