Great venue and music acts, shame about people vaping.
I would love to give this place a 5, the venue is great. We are regulars to this venue. The music which we have seen there always has good sound and lighting. The security are always very good and respectful, especially when searching before entering the event. I only drink water when I’m there because I drive to the event and that is how it should be - free. It is a great venue but my only problem is that people vape inside the building and often close to my daughter and myself. They have a designated smoking area outside, but I think it should be made clearer that vaping is not allowed. There are many articles now about the dangers of vaping and I’m worried, like smoking, about passive vaping. During the times when we had to wear masks, staff were regularly going around checking whether people were wearing masks, they now need to do the same with vaping.

    Nostalgic memories tainted
I’ve been coming here for years and been to some amazing gigs but the most recent gig felt completely different. Security on door are overly strict and feel very unwelcoming which made me feel uncomfortable from start. The bag rule, my bag was A4 size and was also half empty. I’d understand if it was full and bulging out so to stop hitting someone with my bag by accident. I said my bag would have to go into storage but there’s no storage there so you have to walk to a premier inn to store your bag but they don’t tell you you have to pay for it. I didn’t and my partner gladly came and got my bag for me. When I got back in queue they asked if I’d checked my bag in and I said no my partner got it and they seemed disappointed by this so I don’t know if they make some commission from the check in fee. Because of having to do this we were right at back and could hardly see, security guards were coming round constantly shining lights on anyone who looked there way. I had them looking at my shoes for some reason. Very dodgy atmosphere and made to feel like a criminal. Of course security was nobody to be found when a man randomly started being quite aggressive to our group… It’s really put me off this venue which I used to love.

    Enjoyable Venue once sat down
Venue in itself was quite good but not great for people with access needs as there are stairs to go down in the Balcony with no hand rails . wasnt clear on exit where we were going and a security man was rude and grunted at me when i wanted to turn around as realised steps went outside and i was meeting my daughter inside . badly organised so i couldnt get to the merchandise and by the time figured out where it was they had closed it off, most security not pleasant but there were afew good ones, guy very good on access door . Car parking was fab at the side of the venue. Could have been better organised with the barriers for different areas.Easy to get to I did like the location. However Bad choice not taking cash as i only had cash and was unable to buy a drink and wasnt offered water.

    lovely bartender, awful queue
just wanted to say the blonde lady with her hair in a scrunchie/ bun working at the bar when you walk in was very nice- and gave lovely service, which was nice after the horrific queue. the queue was genuinely a massive hazard, and lacked so much organisation. thank you to her though she was so lovely.

Poor choice of seating for Accessible Customers
I am ambulant disabled and travelled to the gig with a companion. Showsec staff met me at the front door and took me up in the elevator to balcony level. My companion was not allowed in due to a 2 people max rule, and had to use the stairs. My concern here is for those with nuero-diverse conditions that require the carer to be present. I was shown to a row of seats with far too little leg room and spent the evening uncomfortable. My companion had to stand and made the trips to the bar to pay just under 8 pound for a plastic beaker of beer. Disabled toilet facilities were good. Most staff I encountered were friendly. The gig was great but being so uncomfortable spoiled it for me.

Bitterly disappointed at the awful view from the clearly oversold balcony area and the even worse sound quality that came with it.

I have been to numerous events at the venue before and never had any issue, however this time I decided to give the balcony a go. This was a huge mistake.

By the time we had got through the horrendously long queue and entered the venue, we were greeted by people lining the stairwells, blocking routes etc just to find a spot where the stage was visible. Sadly the only space we could find was out of view of the stage by the upstairs bar. It is clearly oversold when audience members are leaning round the wall at the bar entrance like cartoon characters just hoping for a glimpse of the stage. This was my first taste of disappointment for the evening.

We resigned ourselves to the fact that we were not going to see any of the show we have paid to see, and we remained optimistic for at least hearing some good music. I can only assume the music played was good, as the sound quality from the top at the back is atrocious and consists of 90-95% bass.

I approached the venue for an explanation and they responded that they essentially couldnt care less and confirmed their profits mean more than the satisfaction of their customer.

I will not be returning to this venue, mainly because of their horrible inhuman response more than the above experience. Done give these jokers your hard earned money

Absolutely appalled by the staff here. No respect or compassion toward any paying customer. Spoke to us like absolute dirt Made my friend cry, and wouldn’t let her in despite having spoken to the manager and her having a PAYING ticket.
Words cannot describe how rude and disgusting the staff were, I’ve never had a worse experience. You should be ashamed of yourselves for making people feel so upset.

Went to a concert here. There are always issues with the queuing with staff not knowing which queue is which, however they had the O2 Priority queue and a general queue on our last visit. The staff were telling people if they were on O2 to download the priority app to get into the priority queue even though tickets hadn't been purchased through priority. This meant that people who had got there early had a long wait (ticket prices are the same) to get in while waiting for people to download the app.

Whilst I don't have an issue with people who have booked through priority, I do when staff are telling lots of people to download the app to basically queue jump.

After reading all the Negative Reviews on here, Regarding the Venue, it put a bit of a cloud over seeing The Saw Doctors Last Night , but I after to say , it was our first time at the Venue and We had a Fantastic Time , the Security and Staff at the 02 Academy were fantastic , it was really well organised and completely hassle free, we had seats on the Balcony and the Views were superb, yes the drinks are expensive , but expect it at a concert , recently saw Deacon Blue at the 02 Arena and the prices were the same
We didn’t find the floors sticky on entry , but they were near the end of the night , again to be expected when you have all those people drinking , I can only go on our experience and we would definitely go back to see any other of our favourite bands
Over all a Fantastic Night was had

At the O2 academy tonight to watch a great set from the Saw Doctors. However, I was incredibly disappointed in the venue. Queued around the block to get in. Seemed too slow. Then when I did get in the venue was absolutely rammed and all the balcony seats were taken as was the standing around the balcony. No chance to actually see the gig unless you were 6 foot 6. Shame on those people on either side of the balcony who had a seat but chose to stand up thus blocking the views of those stood behind them. Selfish. Too many drunk people being idiots and spilling drinks everywhere including over other people whilst attempting to dance with a full pint in their hands. No security there to have a quiet word. A very disappointing experience and very unlikely to return.

£7.45 for a pint of lager in a plastic cup. Needless to say, it was the 1st and last. One headline act only played just over an hour... Disappointing night.

Went here to see Kip Moore pretty good venue with a lot of bars and toilets and space.
The secure was very good, pretty intense, but at least felt safe.
The location is good and close to bars.
The only thing is it is very expensive for drinks although you can get free water.

Great venue but sadly overpriced and overcrowded. The venue itself has great acoustics but the standing area has become too crowded after covid
