My wife and I decided that at last we would walk the Chichester's historic City Walls. We parked in the Chichester Theatre car park and then spent the next hour or so strolling around the old City walls. There were occasions when we lost the...More

What a great way to spend a hour or two walking on the Chichester city walls. You can look around the gardens as well, but to come to Chichester and not do this walk would be a crime. See the Roman walls, and think back...More

Most of Chichesters Roman walls still survive. It costs nothing to walk the wall looking down on the beautiful small city of Chichester. Dont forget to stop off in the cathedral although it is currently undergoing repairs. Drop down into the Bishops Garden and then...More

A short but interesting walk around the outskirts of the central town - very easy to do and well worth tagging onto a shopping trip or day out

This walk can be started/finished at various points. At some points it is accessed by steps only - other parts by ramps. Fascinating to look down on both sides at what there is to see (fronts/backs of people's homes, Priory Park, County Hall and also...More

Enjoyable and easy walk along parts of the city walls but a little disappointed as there does not seem much information along the way about them unless you leave the walls.

Chichester is so lucky to have most of its Roman walls still standing. The walk is good if you have a spare hour or so and you get to see other highlights of Chichester too. I would recommend taking a break halfway because it can...More

An interesting walk along the original walls which brings history and imagination alive. Not as high as I expected , but free. Not all the wall is accessible , nor is it all intact but the stretches that are, and the views are worth it

Its always worth walking around Chichester's city walls Probably around 70% of them are still standing although not all are accessible Autumn or winter are two of my favourite times, for amazing colourful vistas over the city, Cannot recommend highly enough.
