wow! lots going on at New Street Station. many railway lines converge here where travellers get the opportunity to shop as well. Staff were very helpful, but signage could have been better

Trip to the German Christmas market. Northampton to Birmingham. Can't be any easier than going by train and this station is bang next to Birmingham central takes the effort out of it.

New street station is easy to navigate. Three levels, trains, concourse above, grand central shopping above that. If you’re arriving early or late, or leaving early or late there are a plethora of shops for gifts and food places for meals. It’s very close to...More

Clean, open and modern. However a tad confusing. The old New Street had one main corridor allowing access to all platforms in numerical order. Under the new scheme there are 3 coloured zones that I'm at a loss to understand.

Some will say this looks pretty from the outside, personally I think it works at night but looks a bit of a mess in daylight...hey ho. But what really irks me is the internal signage, they have “lounges” - but you try finding which platform...More

No it's a very long way from the station. You might need to get a train to get there.

The trains are below ground, the main concourse is on ground level and there are shops and cafes above ground too.
