Just back from a visit to Ouseburn Farm, my granddaughter had a great time at a Rabbit and Guinea pig petting session. Lovely place for the children, animals to look at, nice gardens and pleasant walks in the valley.
Easy parking nearby. Really nice cafe, food very good, reasonably priced. Staff all very helpful and friendly.
A great outing for the family

A little visit down memory lane for my husband who used to visit Byker Farm as a kid. What a little gem of a place. The animals are well looked after, the veggie and flower patches are lovely to see, and the cafe food and service was outstanding! Thank you to Lewis who looked after us! We will return.

We popped in here after the Victoria Tunnel tour as it’s super close.

Mental how there is a little farm in the middle of a city. It’s lovely, very small but has everything you need if you have little ones!

Also a nice walk around the farm.

Thank you 😊

Great small city farm our grand kids loved it.

Varied array of animals and the grand kids loved the bugs they have.

They were equally fascinated by the old walls left over the farms grounds from the old iron works.

What a fantastic day at Ouseburn farm. Goat walking was so much fun and such a different activity to do. We loved it.
The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The farm is very clean and the animals all look happy.
The cafe staff and volunteers are 5 star and the food is delicious.
Thankyou. We have had such a great day.

My husband and I were on holiday in Newcastle for 10 day's and we visited the farm twice. It is a very friendly little place, you can see the animals and get very close and stroke them (As long as you wash your hands of course) We got there about 9.45am and were just in time after having a stroke to see them go out into the field (which you can visit). There were rabbits, goats, little ponies, pigs and the most adorable little calf. There is a lovely little garden where a lot of the plants are for sale. We had a very nice cup of coffee in there coffee shop which also has snacks. The animals are so very well looked after and all the people so friendly. It is free to go in they just suggest a donation which they really deserve.

My Wife Wendy were on holiday for a few days in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and visited Ouseburn Farm for the first time on 30th May 2014, we do not drive so we caught the Q2 Quaylink bus and alighted at the Lime Street stop, we then took the first left turn along Lime Street and after a short walk we found Ouseburn Farm.
We saw some Sheep and their Lambs, Four Anglo-nubian Goats, Ebony was my favourite!, there were also some Pigs and a selection of Chickens and Ducks. There are well tended vegetable gardens with some surprises in the form of Scarecrows and even two ornamental Giraffes! There is also a small farm shop and an excellent cafe with home made food and drinks, a lift and ramps make it accessable for those less mobile. We had a coffee before heading back down the road towards the Quayside and Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
We enjoyed our first visit so much, that we decided to make a second visit on Thursday 5th June. We were certainly not disappointed as we saw all the animals plus a new addition to the farm in the form of a beautiful black Calf !
All the animals are very well looked after and we saw some of them taken along to the fields to graze nearby.
Ouseburn Farm is a superb place to visit and if we come to Newcastle again, we are sure to make another visit.

What really upset me during our visit was finding out that the lambs we were watching gamble about their enclosure were set to be slaughtered for dinner! The organisation doesn't advertise the fact that this sanctuary is a front for a working farm. Very sad. In addition there is literally only enough to see for about a 30 minute visit. Avoid.

We arrived early (and cold) for the Victoria Tunnel walk, and found that this place, which was close by, had a cafe. Although it wasn't opening time they made us welcome and we had excellent drinks and scones at a very reasonable price.
We didn't look round the farm as we didn't have long. It was nice to be able to make a donation to a very worthy cause.

This farm is not big but what is lacks in size it makes up for in charm. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who interacted wonderfully with both animals and children alike. Visit the cafe for nice tea and cake.
