Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awful place. Nowhere in government guidance does it say you are obliged to check in with the COVID-19 app to enter a venue. The jumped up bouncers made a huge point of trying to get us all to check in. They went as far as making us check in infront of them. Some of our group offered to check in by providing our details on a check in form but this was denied.
After this awful experience we got inside and realised that it was all for nothing. The atmosphere was terrible, the place was half empty. They sat 6 of us on a cramped table and the sat a group of 3 on a much larger table nearby? The drinks were overpriced and bad. How they can charge a deposit is beyond me.
Luckily we had a booking afterwards for Soho across the road which saved the night.
I must say that the bartenders were very good and hard working. It is just unfortunate for them that the venue is terrible.
Avoid at all costs, don’t read the reviews and chance it thinking people are overblowing how bad this place is.

Came in today wasn’t greeted was asked if we had a booking which we did to then be passed on to another guy who showed us to a table round the corner beside the stairs to the toilet even though the place was half empty, didn’t say what we had to do to get drinks or how to order, when there was many tables. The waitress was very good!! Young girl and very hard working. Told we only had 15 mins left when asked to move to a better table. £20 booking fee for 6 shocking weak sours shots not even worth £5. £6:65 for treble vodkas thought this’ll make up for it. Nope. Weak can’t taste any vodka and non fizzy coke. Next we went for vodka red bull. Defo not red bull or again trebles. Will never be back.

When it got to closing the bouncers dragged my friend out by the scruff of the neck instead of asking us to leave. This was an unprovoked attack and scared all of my friends. Will not be going back. The staff are not bothered by the bouncers behaviour and we’re trying to justify it.

I never leave reviews about anything but this has to be done so they can change their ways. Booked a table of 6 for my stag do. The bouncers told us if we didn’t use the NHS app to contact trace then we wouldn’t be allowed in. They need to read the rules again on the website because they are not allowed to use this a precondition of entry as it violates privacy. Three of our group had to download the app outside the club and this irritated us because we really had no choice. That’s what frustrated me the most. The other feedback I have is that the free shots you get for the £20 table is basically out of date apple juice or something. The drinks are disgusting cheap spirits and horrible mixers. I would never go back.

I wouldn’t even give this place a 1! Had the most horrendous experience in here on Friday night. The bouncers need sorting out. Went in to show my mum a little bit of the Newcastle nightlife and it ended in us getting dragged out all because she sat in a ‘VIP Booth’. Well if you think that’s VIP you need to think again. To drag my 48 year old mum out the way you did was horrendous. A simple ‘please can you move from these seats would have been efficient and she would have got up.’ The anger on the bounces face when he was dragging me out. Wow, your bouncers really need sorting.

We’ve booked a table and had a great night out. Staff was friendly (maybe except the guys at the door; when we said we’ve booked a table they didn’t even bother or took the time to welcome us) and service was really good. Hope to be back soon.

Best night out I’ve had in Newcastle so far. We went to Bijoux last weekend for a stag and had a VIP table. Let me tell you now, the drink prices were good, the music was good and the girls were even better. Table Hostesses were fit and helpful as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Awful establishment, in particular the bouncers. They are constantly looking for a fight and very lairy. I left early and gave a bottle of grey goose to a mother (quite irresponsible parenting) - at least I did some charity.

Hi what is the policy on non-offensive visable tattoos? Myself & a friend are travelling over from Northern Ireland in a few weeks time & Bijoux is definitely on our list of places to drink in!
Thanks!
