A fabulouse looking bridge especially at night with working original lanterns lighting the way to look up and down the wonderful tyne and the quayside.

Great views and all for free in this popular part of Newcastle. Plenty of nearby pubs and eateries, friendly people and a lack of litter & graffiti made this a pleasant visit. Good memories!

Fine example of engineering from a period of innovation and style. A clear day offered us a pretty decent view of everything that's right about Newcastle. Slightly disappointed the bridge was denied full complimentary illumination at night. Instead, a few bulbs dotted along the base...More

Good viewing point by day. Wonderful views at twlight, evennings when the lights dance on the water, people mingle and chat, lovely meeting place, great atmosphere.

I crossed the Tyne on a number of occasions.Whenever i saw this masterpiece of engineering i was reminded of Sydney harbour bridge.Whenever you think of Newcastle the bridge comes to mind.
