We walked more than 13 miles around the lanes and byways, absolutely perfect Summers day. If you are there at the weeknd the Butley Ferry (max 4 persons!) is a must do

Nature, water, military history, maritime heritage--all are on show here and it a rich source of all these aspects. Well worth a few days visit ----and then some more! Good food available as well as restaurants

Both mytself and my son are keen on military history and after seeing this on Michael Portillo's TV show had to come, we were not dissapointed, a fasinating place, combining so much history in one small place, a great day out.Decent shoes a must.
