Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were friendly, very accommodating and really made the experience fun. We chose a more challenging room as it was one that would take the 8 of us; we're beginners, so the hints were very helpful! Everything worked. On the customer service front: because of a cock up on my part we were in the wrong town (!) and missed our original booking: the staff allowed me to move the booking for a (reasonable) fee, which they didn't need to do. Thank you!

We played Operation: Overload at LevelUp Escapes and wow
the use of space in this room is really impressive and makes for some unique moments. It can be easy to ignore tech in a room themed to WWII but this room managed to incorporate some exciting elements without breaking the immersion. Another stand out in this game is the clue system which allowed for the GM to really have fun and immerse us in the storyline which I always appreciate.
Finally, the ending of this game was just unbelievable! I won't spoil it but I would be surprised if any team could predict what was coming for them in the last moments before game end.
Thank you for a great time Nye.

We went to mission abducted. We only had 3 players, the room was a challenge! I would therefore go with recommendations of the more the merrier! We have been to a different room with the same company (Shrewsbury Manor) and had success.
We were disappointed on this occasion as the computer screen wasn’t on at first and so we did not have full instructions. It took 10 minutes for the host to realise this yet we didn’t get any extra time?
We asked for help and it seemed to take a long time coming. When it did come the instructions were the same and so didn’t really offer any additional support.
The host on our previous visit was much more fun and interactive.
I will return with a larger group and hopefully escape. (Hopefully we will get the previous host too as this one was not as friendly)

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s great to hear you’ve enjoyed Mystery Manor previously, and we’re glad to know you’re planning to return for another adventure with a larger group.
Mission: Abducted is one of our most challenging experiences, and it’s designed to really test teamwork and problem-solving skills, especially for groups of fewer than four players. We do our best to make this clear when booking, as larger teams often have a more balanced experience. Tackling it with three players is no small feat, so well done for giving it a go!
Mystery Manor is a very different type of room—more interactive with a different style of puzzles—so it’s understandable that the experiences feel quite distinct. We aim to provide variety across all our rooms to ensure each visit offers something unique.
I’d like to address your comments about the technical issue with the screen. I can see from the game record that your group was given an additional 3 minutes to make up for the initial delay, and we appreciate your patience as this was resolved. In terms of the clues, these are always prepared and delivered promptly by the host, though we also try to balance this with allowing teams to fully engage with the challenge.
Finally, I’m sorry to hear you felt your host wasn’t as interactive as on your previous visit. All our team members are trained to the same high standard and are there to ensure you have a great experience. We know hosting styles may vary slightly, but rest assured, every host is committed to making your visit as enjoyable as possible.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back for another challenge. If there’s anything else you’d like to discuss or ask about, please feel free to email me directly at nathan.green@levelupescapes.com.

We absolutely loved this escape room and the attention to detail was fab! The staff were helpful too. We did the Operation Overload game and there was little nuggets like thunder and ‘rain’. The game was very well thought out and probably one of my fave escape rooms to date.

We’ve done a lot of escape rooms and this by far was one of the most fun we have done! It was hilarious! We choose to play Mystery Manor and it was just the right balance between scary and fun - we had a great time! I’ve never laughed so much in an escape room! If you do it then I highly recommend having the theatrical effects as it adds to the experience and something you don’t get in other rooms.
Special mention goes to Kyle who was our host and he was great. Explained everything clearly before we went in and was a great help whilst inside when we went blank on the odd clue! We hope he had fun watching us scream and hide in the corner everytime we opened a new box or pushed a button!
Highly recommend this room and company!

The team were very helpful and responsive during the booking process when I wasn't sure on numbers. They were welcoming on the day and secured our belongings securely. We did the Mission:Abducted room which, as a first Escape Room for most of us, was a challenge for us to get started but some helpful hints (and requested clues towards the end) meant we were successful which was really satisfying. It was definitely a fun challenge which we all enjoyed and the staff were very friendly.

My wife and I took our 11 & 8 year olds and we did the Operation Overload WW2 room. It was excellent and our host Nancy was fabulous, helping us along the way!! Highly recommended and really well thought through.

Second visit - first, last October when my daughter and I did the Mystery Manor, and today when we did the Snowbound Express. Both brilliant fun - creative and exciting. Well managed by the two funny guys who acted occasionally on the train. Help given when required. Escaped both rooms with minutes to spare, even though there was only two of us. Would thoroughly recommend!
