Visited on a day trip, was met in the foyer by a reverend who told me there was a Organ Recital taking place within the church so my wife and I went in to sit and listen. Amazing experience to hear a pipe organ being played by a obviously very proficient musician.
Four pieces of classical music was played in total, not my usual choice of music but nevertheless a very moving experience. The acoustics were fantastic. Following the Recital we looked around the church which contained beautiful stained glass windows and interesting Religious artifacts. Unusual church In the fact it is circular in design, the only other such designed church is in London. Well worth a visit.

A lovely church and so unusual. We went Christmas week when it was displaying the Christmas trees it was wonderful can highly recommend you visit at Christmas. We walked along the river looking at the church on top of the hill a most impressive sight. The entrance to the church is under the tower then into the circular part of the building the pews are curved which was most unusual.

I went to a lunchtime concert here but it was also a church I wanted to visit. It is very interesting architecturally, being round and elegant. It is also placed at a focal point for the huge park in Shrewsbury. The concert was one of a series of free (optional collection) lunchtime concerts and was excellent - a very good mezzo-soprano with a wide repertoire. A sandwich lunch in the church hall was also free (donations requested). Altogether, a delightful post-lockdown experience.

St Chad's Church is next to Quarry Park and is in the city centre.

It has a curved chapel and is worth entering yo admire the beautiful stained glass windows and architecture.

Really beautiful and a great place to pause and reflect.

Visited this church while out for a walk because it's round shape catching my eyes. It's one of very few round churches in UK.
Charles Darwin was baptised in this church in 1809. This church was found in Saxon times.
Had a walk at the back to find a famous Scrooge's grave. Btw staff of the church was very nice, friendly and polite specially the old chap on door who have us idea of visiting interest points and walk around for that. There been rehearsal going on for Sunday services which was very awesome.

Traveled 80 miles to see the grave of Scrooge not real but as I love Christmas it was a must. It’s said it was opened Monday Wednesday
We went Monday but the grave yard was locked. A lady outside said it was locked for COVID-19. It’s the only grave yard I’ve seen locked

The circular nave was not what I expected as the alter is at the east end, rather than in the centre, as in another church of similar design. It's worth studying the inscriptions round the walls for historical interest. Weekly lunchtime concerts are held; the organ was played when we attended.

Usually each year I get the opportunity to play in a concert in St Chads. It is a lovely venue, good acoustics. This year being in December, they had all the Christmas trees on show. It was lovely to play there and see the trees and all the lights.

It is a lovely building as well, plenty to hold the interest if you get the chance to wander around.

Refreshingly bright inside the church. Organist looked like the Phantom of the Opera sitting above the nave. Outside we looked with guidance from a volunteer for the gravestone (Film prop) of Ebenezer Scrooge. Still worth seeing..

This is a lovely and interesting Georgian church. It is notable primarily for two things: its round design and the "grave" of Ebenezer Scrooge, an old, worn tombstone cared with his name and used in the 1984 A Christmas Caro, which was filmed throughout Shrewsbury. The grave is easily found by a tree in the cemetery.
