This one of my favourite places to visit in Sheffield. Love the garden, open fire, beautiful lights, canoes, Knick knacks in nooks and crannies, good beer, folk music, public and saloon, pool, a river, community run, gorgeous.

Pub sounds great, looks good too. Their beers (drank elsewhere) are excellent too. Be warned though, the pub is closed on midweek afternoons - even on Yorkshire Day! :(

The Gardeners Rest is a very friendly welcoming pub with a jovial landlord and a quirky garden overlooking the River Don. They have an interesting selection of beers. I saw a most amusing performance by a singer/guitarist called Paul Weatherhead. Altogether a very enjoyable afternoon.

A very friendly establishment which I understand is community run. It has a conservatory and a funky beer garden which overlooks the river. It can get very busy when there are bands on at the weekend.

A great traditional real ale pub in Neepsend Sheffield. Note to hipsters - this pub is in Neepsend and not Kelham Island.

My partner and I headed to the Gardeners Rest for quiet drinks after our anniversary lunch only to be served by the grumpiest barman I've had the misfprtune of encountering. We were going to stay for the afternoon and sit in the beer garden however...More
