This is a proper old boozer in the heart of Reading. Excellent range of ales and ciders on offer (see my pics) with jukebox playing mainly heavy metal in the background. Walls and ceilings decorated with beer mats and mobile phones are positively discouraged! May...More

Been coming here on my visits to Reading for over 25 years. The only changes have been the staff. It's the same great little Real Ale emporium as it ever was, with the addition over the past few years, of a wide selection of local...More

Very good selection of beers and ales in this CAMRA listed pub. We just stopped for one pint and i could've stayed for many more but had to get home. Will definitely come back.

Proper old pub good selection ales and cider. CAMRA listed and some really good music playing, unfortunately I was unable to sit outside due to clamp downs by police in Reading centre

This was the sort of pub you tried to avoid in the inner cities in the 1970's. Filthy toilets, unfriendly staff, old men hogging the bar making it hard to get served and smoking e-cigarettes, yet it sells over-priced beer which is very mediocre. No...More

Popped in for a late pint on Friday night. Good selection of beers served by passionate and friendly staff with a good eye for banter. Great seating options for cosy or group. Atmosphere and privacy well matched. Enjoyable venue.

Proper boozer, quirky regulars, I had great conversation about a number of things...Beer is Great, lot of Micro Brewery Stuff...ancient décor and graffiti etched in to wooden seats and stalls...toilet as you would expect...but actually not smelly. This is a Pub you are either going...More

I like real pubs without musice etc but that this place just did not do it for me. It was late lunchtime and there was no atmosphere, people looked surly and unfriendly. Toilets were awful
