Here at The Oxford Wine Cafe we aim to bring you wines with a focus on the smaller boutique style producers who are making wine with real passion. We have a wide range of wines available by both the glass and the bottle. Our by the glass selection changes frequently thereby keeping our list fresh and giving you maximum choice and the chance to get to know many different wine styles. All our wines are served out of the very best Riedel glassware to give you the tasting experience that you deserve. Why drink a great wine out of an inferior glass? Top glassware is created to deliver different styles of wine to the right part of your palate to give maximum pleasure - and, let's face it - that's what wine is all about. We run regular tastings that feature many well known winemakers and MWs but these are never formal events - they are designed to be accessible to everyone, whatever their interests in wine may be. Theo's Tasty Tuesday tastings take place once a month and are especially designed to be a humorous introduction to the world of wine - it's a great way to have a laugh and learn about wine. We offer a very special 15% discount off all wines tasted at these events. "It's like having a bit of Ronnie Scott's jazz club in your own sitting room," one cafe customer said about our free Sunday night jazz sessions and that's the kind of feel we're aiming for. Relaxed seating, delicious wine, coffee and deli-snacks on hand, candle lit ambiance and fabulous jazz performances from internationally acclaimed trios. A wide variety of styles makes sure there's something for everyone.

Now under new management and rebranded 38 - top wine list, great food and chilled atmosphere. Great staff and a bonus to have outside space on a summer’s evening Get there early as it’s popular with the locals!

Nice place to have a glass of wine on a Friday night, white wine selection was quite good and only really stopped for the one drink. Enjoyed the drink and the experience was very good.

Nice setting, have been here for brunch before, thought we would try for dinner but we missed the time by a few minutes which was a bit annoying. But still, managed to get some snacks and enjoy a bottle of wine.

The perfect place for a coffee with a book, catching up with a friend, having a good evening out with company, or hanging out and listening to jazz. This place is lovely. Prices aren't on the cheap side, but you get plenty for them: the...More

Situated in side road. Very pleasant and welcoming ambiance. Attractive and quiet lounge at the back. Wide range of wines and coffees. All in all a very unusual place well worth a visit.

Called here for a quick bite to eat one lunchtime. I liked the look of the cold meat board, and was very pleased they served it for one person. So often single diners are denied these boards. It contained evrything I could wish for on...More

A very nice place for a Sunday afternoon coffee or a Friday evening glass of wine - if you can afford it! The full wine list is great but the by the glass wines are quite unimaginative. Coffees are very well made and the staff...More
