Well worth visiting. The quad is typically peaceful and beautiful, particularly during the summer months. The dining hall and chapel are spectacular.

We visited the College when the literature and the web site said it would be open, but were disappointed to find it closed to the public. Not sure how you get round this problem. Planning visits doesn’t seem to be the answer - it’s rather...More

The grounds are beautiful and the buildings quirkily interesting. There is always a sense of calm, peace, fun and laughter here. One imagines the long stints of concentration, fight for focus and some sustained thinking going on behind these old walls.

We stayed in the college overnight and it was a really great location. Nice grounds and welcoming staff. Room was spacious & clean with tea and coffeee making facilities. Breakfast was included & the dining hall was like something from Harry Potter. Nice chapel too.

Two lovely quads within a historic setting of wonderful buildings. Take a few moments to walk round the quads and then visit the Chapel in the corner - you can smell the candles. Lastly visit the main hall together with it's hammer beamed ceiling.

Oriel college was founded by King Edward the second in 1326 and is located on the high street in Oxford city centre. It has a great library and chapel and is well worth visiting.
