This was a mixed visit. The setting, offering outdoor seating right up alongside the River Ouse, is fantastic (though the tables could do with a wipe). I ordered a cider for my date and a double gin and tonic for myself, this was just shy of £15. My drink was beautifully made, and served (correctly) with cucumber, in a glass that allowed the drink to really deliver itself. Unfortunately when I went back for a second serving the bar-staff had changed and I was given a sad looking g&t in an average cup, that stifled the drink, which was served with (sigh) a slice of lemon. This drink alone cost £9, which is a lot when there are sublime martini's on offer a short walk away at Evil Eye for £7.

We stopped in here to book tickets at the picture house for an evening showing and decided to have lunch whilst there have previously had breakfast which was very nice, i opted for a butternut, sweet potatoe and chickpea burger which was lovely and my partner raved about his cauliflour, potatoe and red lentil dahl. The service was good and friendly this place is a must visit whilst visiting york.

On a cold, rainy day, this was a perfect stop. We ordered their hot chocolate, Americana coffee, a slice of carrot cake, and a crescent... simply delicious!
