If you have any walking difficulties or heavy luggage avoid this station.. lifts are out of action and no staff around to assist. I fortunstely can walk but struggle with steps. If you were wheelchair bound you would be stranded on the platform

Well kept station which depicts the past and current railway industry. Great facilities on or near the station. The national railway museum is nearby which is well worth a visit.

I was based out of York for a work assignment and always found the station clean, the amenities are as you would expect - their are toilets, news stands and places to eat.

Been here quite a few times recently normally on train changeovers. It is a grand old station and matches in so well with York. Plenty of refreshments available at various cafes, and sufficient taxis outside.

It takes about a minute. The station is small. You go up some stairs to cross the tracks, then down the other side.

It should probably take no more than 5 minutes depending on whether you take the stairs or lift. York is a mid-sized station and very easy to navigate.

No. Only open when trains are running but the vending machines stock plain chocolate bounties.
