A proper big old station with a roof covering most of it.Unlike a lot of stations today, you can enter without a ticket barrier to go through.Nice and accessible and welcoming.

We arrived and departed from this station, everything was easy and good signage. The information desk was helpful. Lovely clocks to keep you on time.

We took the train from London into the station and found it easy to maneuver around. It's just a short distance to the gates where you can take a car to your hotel. It's old, but charming.

The platforms are not easy to find but there are lots of information boards to help. The public toilets, although very clean, are hidden away.

I always love to visit Victorian railway stations, and York is a beautiful example of the gene. You'll often catch a steam train passing through too.

Difficult to say too much. Our train was on time the platforms were clean and tidy no rubbish. The tannoy announcements were amazing! Just what they were supposed to be about we have no idea!

There are railway stations, like my own, that are little more than platforms, and then there is York Railway Station with its great roof, sweeping platforms, imposing entrance and vibrant atmosphere. It's an adventure in itself. Equally impressive is its over-the-road bus interchange, buses arriving...More

There were few or no local trains, due to strike but staff who were there were helpful. Well done York

It should probably take no more than 5 minutes depending on whether you take the stairs or lift. York is a mid-sized station and very easy to navigate.

No. Only open when trains are running but the vending machines stock plain chocolate bounties.
