This station is located within a 2 minute walk to the city walls and convenient to almost all the hotels in the area. I liked it.

We left our bags in left luggage for the day while we looked round York . Perfect so we didn’t have to carry them. This station had everything you needed. Nice cafe and helpful staff

We walked from the hotel around the City walls which was about 35 minutes and got the train to Scarborough. Well worth doing.

Yes there's a food shop selling drinks, sandwiches etc. Also a WH Smith, a pasty shop, a pub and lots of kiosks. No problem getting a drink.
