Situated just around the corner from Cliffords tower and the Jorvic Centre this little gem is a must-see. It contains the furniture that Goddards House doesn't. Goddards is the home of the Terry family but the collection of furniture by Noel is situated here and...More

The guides were nice and knew a lot, and the house was pretty. Many house museums are just doing so much more to get visitors involved that this felt a little basic.

This was a reclaimed Georgian Town House that had fallen sadly into a bad state. Now tastefully restored with a knowledgeable set of volunteer guides this was a pleasant hours visit. Well decorated and lots of information.

The furniture and fitting were very lovely, but by far the highlight of this attraction is the very interesting and enthusiastic guides, who made the rooms come to life with stories of the family, the way they lived, and the times. If you go, be...More

Wonderfully restored townhouse housing the Terry furniture and clock collection. Unusual furniture collection as it is all early 1700s English most houses have furniture from overseas, Visit benefitted from having knowledgeable guides in most rooms.

After reading all of the glowing reviews here, I'll admit to being very disappointed by Fairfax House. The first disappointment came when we found out that we were not allowed to take photos or videos anywhere in the house. Very strange, considering most historic houses...More
