Another important cemetery to visit. We had filmed while at college in the grounds. We had an absolutely wonderful time yet back then it was more safe. Revisiting the grounds again after decades it is still the same, peaceful and quiet. It is always the...More

I spent today at the cemetery with a friend looking at the Commonwealth War Graves. It was bucketing down with rain so there weren't very many people around. Perhaps that's why we didn't feel particularly safe. Things started off well with tea in the North...More

I have been to two of the other Seven Cemeterys and this is the one that is most unkept and quiet. There are official dog walking routes and these paths were quite busy but when you go off these you are on your own. Saw...More

Having already visited Highgate I was interested in visiting seeing another of the Magnificent Seven and due to the proximity of public transport(West Brompton train station is literally round the corner) I decided on this one. Went to a couple of events in the splendidly restored chapel. This is a friendly cemetery with lots of people walking about enjoying the wild flowers and birds. They have some wonderful events in the chapel. It is worth checking out.

A beautiful example of a graveyard with graves from all sorts of periods in time. Peaceful and well maintained we enjoyed a long walk through it, taking time to stop and look at different graves although I couldn't find where to buy the guestbook which...More

There is no fee to pay to walk around the cemetery. It is unusual in that it is both a place for burials and a public park.

Hi Nancy As H19PPO points out Highgate is 45 mins away whereas Brompton is only 20 mins. You would need to spend a day at Highgate to see most of it including the West Side - guided tours are available.and then refresh at... More
