On the Victoria Embankment overlooking the River Thames, this is a fitting tribute to all those who took part in The Battle of Britain. The memorial is very thought provoking and poignant as you read the list of names of the airmen who lost their...More

A great memorial to remember the brave men and women who fought for our freedom. The level of detail was amazing and each part of the memorial told it's own story.

Wow! The pilot pushes free from his constraints and comes rushing forward. The urgency in his expression is palpable and almost touchable. And such was the urgency of the moment. Imagine, the alarm has been sounded, every pilot is called to his plane, and the...More

Located on the Embankment this statue is a great piece of art, but more importantly a great memorial to the thousands of men and women who died during WW2. You can't help but be humbled by the sacrifice.

The monument commemorates the service men of the Battle of Britain. It's been here since 2005 and it's very striking; measuring 82ft in length (25 metres) and includes lifesize sculpture of airmen scrambling for their aircraft. Certainly makes you stop and think.

The monument seems bigger in photos than what it is in real life but it's still definitely great size. The details that were put into it are great, it's truly a worthy monument and a good place to visit.

Without wanting to seem disrepectful to the RAF aircrew who lived and died defending the city against seemingly overwhelming odds I particularly appreciated the panel remembering the Londoners caught up in this. My father was a firewatcher and my mother served in the ATS on...More

If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a
grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to
start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster
Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square,
and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham
Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just
up the road as well. As captivating as the
architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are
