The Hogwarts Express may not exist, but J.K. Rowling fans can still have a photo op at King’s Cross; be prepared to wait. Afterwards, spend your galleons on souvenir wands, toys, and Gryffindor gear.

    A fun store!
I had a lot of fun being in this store, had a nice selection of things, I am always wowed when I go into any Harry Potter store. I think the price for the items are reasonable but that’s just my opinion as I am always willing to spend as we have nothing near by our home town. I would say the girls behind the wand counter need to just acknowledge when you’re waiting, they could clearly see me but I had to make them aware of my presence, no biggy, but I know some customers would like to make a mountain out of this. The girl who sold me my items was so sweet and kind. The trolley in the platform wall is really cool, I didn’t stop for a photo as the queue was too long.

    Fun Stop at King Cross
We enjoyed the picture opportunity and the options in the store. The line was a bit long on the Sunday afternoon we went. There seemed to be a line to get into the store as well as the photo opportunity. They have a photographer there to take pictures, but also allow you to take them on your phone. Props and poses were available at your discretion. The store had many souvenirs. Earlier that day we went on the Warner Bros Tour and found that this store had other options that were not available at the other sight, including a personalized Hogwarts acceptance letter.

    Ok
The store contained a lot of Harry Potter items, but nothing that had a "function", only passive items. I assume you could find the same items online. The trolley into the wall was fun, but the line to take photos there were long.

Lovely Shop and lovely Photo Opportunity
This shop is always a joy to visit! It has a lovely selection of Harry Potter themed items and there's the opportunity to have a photo taken with a trolley at Platform 9 3/4. A professional takes your photo, but you can also have a friend take your photo. So it's not necessary to buy the professional photo unless you really want to and I think that's a great thing as not everyone can afford that and also, not every professional photo is great (the quality, yes, your face in it? Maybe not. ;)). There can be a queue for the shop as it's a smaller shop. And there is always a queue for Platform 9 3/4 so I guess you need to go very early and preferably not at the weekend. And not on school holidays? Later at night, when the shop is closed, the trolley is stored somewhere. But you can still take a photo of yourself with the Platform 9 3/4 sign. So that's an idea. :)

    Great photo opportunity
This is such a great idea, but equally a very clever way to make a lot of money! There was a long wait to get the photo, but it was a great photo to have. There is the option of buying the professional photo, but many were just taking photos on their phones. As expected, the shop is very expensive, but has a great range.

This was not very good. The cart is in a random location in the station. Not at all like the film. Very busy, too. Sort of a letdown. Don't bother.

Over zealous security on a power trip!

I’m not a Harry Potter fan thank god because as I’m sat opposite the shop enjoying my pret sandwich I would be so disappointed visiting the shop.

On watching the excited people patiently queuing to enter said shop the security guy is constantly telling people where to stand in the queue, to not take things in the shop with them, to remove their backpacks and I’m sure if he could would telling them not to smile either.

I’m sure he does nothing but detract from anyone’s visit to the store. Need to sprinkle a little magic over him and his colleagues (of which there are 5 which would seem a slight overload!)

I brought some family members who are big Harry Potter fans. It was during the week so not super busy and the que length was okay but two staff members were rude and with very poor customer skills. That killed the excitement of the experience and we left without buying any professional photo, which anyway were expensive for their quality.

I visited London for the very first time in June 2023 and I came to this shop at Kings Cross Station to buy some souvenirs to prepare for my visit to the Warner Brothers Studios: The Making of Harry Potter in Leavesden. Here, I purchased a golden snitch keychain with loose wings, a time-turning keychain, a House of Ravenclaw scarf and necktie and 2 magic wands.

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: I regret not buying the Platform 9 & 3/4 keychain here, because I discovered that this particular item is NOT available at the Harry Potter Studios in Leavesden. The golden snitch keychain sold here is also different from the golden snitch keychain sold at Leavesden. The golden snitch here has loose wings whereas the other one has fixed wings. I am so glad that I bought the golden snitch keychain here. The choice of magic wands here is rather limited, compared to the studios souvenir shop at Leavesden. Rest assured that all the merchandise sold here are genuine licensed Harry Potter merchandise, like the ones sold at the Harry Potter Studios at Leavesden.

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Please be prepared to queue up to enter this shop. On the day of my visit, it was 11 am on a Saturday and I waited approximately 10 minutes in line for my turn to enter the shop. Another interesting feature found here is the famous 'Trolley through the wall' on Platform 9 & 3/4, it is right outside this shop. This feature is a complimentary attraction for all visitors and locals to have their photos taken while re-enacting that famous scene in the Harry Potter movies. There are some staff members standing by at the trolley, who will lend you a magic wand and a long scarf of the House of Gryffindor, for free, for this photo opportunity. A staff member will even help to flick your scarf up while your friend or family member takes your photo, to enhance the realism of the scene! The staff will even teach you how to pose for your photo with the trolley! How AWESOME is that??!!!??? Needless to say, there is usually a very, very long queue for this trolley photo opportunity at Kings Cross Station. On the day of my visit here, I was informed that the queue for this trolley photo was approximately 2 hours long!!!! So I gave it a miss.

IMPORTANT TIP: If you are going to visit the Warner Brothers Studios: The Making of Harry Potter in Leavesden, there are 3 trolleys over there for the same photo opportunity. On the day I visited that place, there were NO QUEUES at all for the 3 trolleys! Everybody was queuing up to board the Hogwarts Express train instead, so I took my time to have my photo taken with each of the 3 trolleys, with many different angles. What fun that was!
