The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

My father-in-law was a Flight Engineer flying Lancasters during WWII, and survived the experience. It was particularly poignant to see the whole crew reproduced in this statue in a way that I had not seen before. A Lancaster crew numbered seven - the pilot, flight...More

We stopped by while we were visiting Green Park to see this stunning memorial to those who served in the Bomber Command during the Second World War. Whilst it serves as a poignant reminder of the futility of War, there's a sense of 'realness' and...More

No one sets out to be brave - these memorials and the details of the faces show the resolute and perhaps fatalistic courage these men had in a very dark time for our world.

As the son of a flight crew member of Bomber Command, I felt that I had to visit this Memorial to the brave men who, unlike my father, did not survive the War. Every one of them volunteered for this dangerous posting and without them...More

War is horrific. Bombers from both sides in WW2 killed thousands of totally innocent people. Despite this they were all (Allies and AXIS) brave young men doing a very dirty and dangerous job.

Very nice artistic sculpture. Great details. Not very busy place. You will love seeing the details of the pilots and their gear

Depressing ,they were brave men but we know now that bombing was a waste of all the lives. I don't think there should be any memorial to bombing.

Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier

Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing

Its free and just stands in Green Park. Only the back of the monument is visible from the road, you need to go into the park to see the front. If you get out at Green Park Tube on the Ritz side of Piccadilly, go into Green... More
