About
This market is one of London’s oldest and largest food markets, with over 100 delicatessens, butchers, fishmongers, and cheesemakers selling fresh produce, meats, artisanal delicacies, and more. It's where locals come to do their grocery runs, and where travelers can come to try some of the best British food in a historic setting. Join a food and market tour of London to make sure you don't miss any of the best stalls. It gets busy on weekend afternoons, and some traders aren't open on all days—typically on limited market days early in the week—so be sure to plan ahead. – Tripadvisor

Neighbourhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

A wonderful experience if you love food
Can't miss this iconic London Market if you love food. Many stalls of fresh produce, meats, seafood, cheese, baked goods and more! Be sure to check the hours before you visit. They are usually closed on Mondays.

    Fun at Borough Market!
We thoroughly enjoyed roaming the market, seeing the food displays and the various vendors selling food to eat. First we had the paella which was delicious. There are very few places to sit, though, so eating standing up was a challenge but worth it. For our next dish, we found seats at a counter at Padella for outstanding homemade pasta. I wanted to try the award-winning fish and chips but the lines were too long and they extended into a street. We have been to London many times over the years and I am shocked that we didn't know this was here! We will definitely return. It was easy to take a bus from the Holborn area where we were staying. Even on a rainy day it was fun!

So fun! So much to do
Crowded but ridiculously fun market with lots of great food choices. The coffee was excellent and so was the Grilled Cheese Toastie. I wish we could have eaten every meal here. This market does not disappoint.

    Jumping but loved it
Hubby wanted to do on our visit to London. Place was absolutely jumping but what a place. Superb market & food stalls to suit all! Too much choice as each food place looked better than the previous one.

Busy but great food and fun!
This market was so cool! Tons of stands with items to buy and take home, or consume onsite. We were there on a weekday right at 12 pm so it was extremely packed and busy - which I thought added to the fun but it may not be for everyone! Especially with children and larger groups. We found a spot to sit down and enjoy our food on the large set of stairs outside and afterwards got the famous chocolate covered strawberries and some drinks!

    Great food options but crowded
We initally came here on a monday but found out many of the food stalls are closed on mondays and tuesdays. Please make sure to check the website before visiting. We came back on a wednesday. Excellent food options. If you have trouble dealing with crowds, this isn't the place for you. We were there around 11:30 am and it was really crowded.

    Not to be missed!
So fun to walk around this very busy market. Come hungry and start early, around 10am when stalls open. Find the paella place, the fishmonger, the produce stalls. The Ginger Pig has wonderful pasties and pies. Enjoy!!

Embark on a Culinary Adventure in London City! Make Sure You come Hungry!
This market is definitely a must-visit venue in London City for any overseas visitors to London. This place sells lots of cooked food as well as fresh produce like fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood. They also sell cheese, chocolates, pastries, bread, flowers, handicraft and lots more. The doughnuts are to die for!!! Go for the vanilla cream and also the chocolate doughnuts, you will not regret it! I also bought the biggest fresh oyster that I have ever seen, over here, for 10 British pounds and the shopkeeper shucked it for me in front of my eyes, and I gobbled it up! It was fresh and delicious!!! I also bought 1 kg of fresh cherries to bring back to my hotel for supper. The Malaysian beef rendang sold by the Joli food truck is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! After that, I had no more room in my stomach for anything else! What a satisfying day that was!

Great food, lots of variety! Can get busy though.
At Borough Market there is a wide variety of food and many tasty options! Personally I have tried the Greek and the Ciabatta place and both were very nice. There is place to sit, however it is likely to be full: Borough Market can get quite busy with certain long queues, so I’d recommend considering the time that you go there.

We went on a Saturday, and it was pretty crowded, but the jostling seems to add to the fun. Going earlier in the day is best. We go every time we're in London, and it never disappoints. You can buy food for home, but you can also buy food to eat here - it's wonderful!

There is good and bad to my honest review, THE GOOD -
the market is a well oiled machine , Staff to keep the queue moving , cleaning and helping .
The food stalls are a sympathy of joy to your taste buds , some stalls give you free tasting .
This place is a must to visit when on holiday - it has everything.
THE BAD -
It is a fast food market but some of the food is expensive , portions between £10 and £14 , some of the food is VFM some the stalls are only catering for the tourists , they are all about getting the food out but forgetting about their culinary standards which is a shame.
As a one off it is a must but they must remember we are all not gullible.
The market is a gold mine just basic maths this place must be coining in between £45 to £50 million a year ……. Cha Ching .
We had a good time and next time in London we will come back .

Honestly I came ready for it to be expensive. But, I was £14 for 8 bits of fudge. Come on guys we don’t all work in Westminster. Every thing was way too expensive, it all looked great stuff, and presented nice but sorry the prices were just too much for me.

The Borough Market is a famous place where not only the tourists but even locals visit especially for the variety of food options. You name it and they have it. The prices are a bit heavy for one's pocket, but some food items are worth every penny like the pulled pork sandwich and the mushroom risotto that we tried. It's a very crowded place so make sure you step in with some patience. The strawberry chocolate gained its fame from here. Apart from fresh and hot food being served with multi-cuisine choices, one can even buy chocolates, bakery products, desserts, canned and tinned food and many more.

This is a food market on steroids. I know I didn’t see all of it. Much looked good. Humble Crumble was dry and not sweet so only get it with one of their toppings.

The long lines can be daunting. The worst was that for the Ladies’ Room- only two stalls for thousands of people.

Avoid weekends and the height of lunchtime. I believe it is closed Mondays.
