This is a marvellous place. The circular, Victorian Picton Room is a delight of hushed study - with a superb collection of books. Below it the new Children's Library is a place you can utterly relax. I love the way the new Library rises up...More

The modern and the classic all in one building. Make sure you visit the Picton Reading Room and the 4th floor terrace.

Good to stop by for a coffee break or catch up in meeting areas with friends. Nice area for young kids. Also has newspapers available so you can chill out for a while there

Surprisingly, the Central Library has some interesting features and exhibits if you are bookish! There is also a small cafe downstairs and a viewing area on the flat roof

Great place to have a coffee and a snack between museum visits, situated between the Walker Gallery and the World Museum, and having helpful tourist information.

My friend and I just 'poked our noses in' when passing and ended up exploring the building from top to bottom including the view from the roof.

You can see everything but a book! Its very modern and business like, and reassures you that somehow anything you wanted to know about could be found in some way!
