Situated in the heart of historic Lincoln, The Collection brings together Lincoln's archaeology museum and the Usher Gallery in one fantastic visitor centre. The Collection includes a wealth of artefacts from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, Roman, Saxon, Viking and Medieval eras as well as fine, decorative and contemporary visual arts. Now Open.....Play at The Collection is a free activity centre, bright and engaging; there's lots for younger children to do and a safe play space for babies. There is also plenty for older children to do in the museum including interactives, mosaic making and trails to follow. Enjoy our newly refurbished cafe run by Lincoln's premier tea and coffee specialists, Stokes of Lincoln.

Soaked in history, this place is great to take all ages. There are activities for the children to do on their visit and always a timetable of events through the day.

Went for a quick look around and ended up staying for about an hour, a lot of interesting ancient tools and weapons and clothes to try on.

This is two buildings adjacent to each other. The Usher is the art gallery and there really are some great paintings. I particularly liked the Lowery. The other building holds the museum and again there are some interesting exhibits. With an hour of your time.

Good for young children with lots of activities. Lincoln has loads more artefacts but where are they it’s a shame they are not on display.

A superb and welcoming setting - readily accessible to town. Archaeology display very well signed and full of good information. Spacious, well lit, and enjoyable. Adjacent Usher gallery more traditional but again well signed. Attractive restaurant but prices dearer than some of adjacent eating places....More

This place is fantastic for the whole family, loads of interesting things to see, interact with and learn about Lincoln's history. The cafe is lovely, it's a shame it's so expensive though.
