This seaside port is a nice place to meet up. There is a small town centre with a variety of unique independent shops. There is also the largest Wetherspoons in the country on the beach in the converted pavilion.

Not many places are free these days but you can still take a gentle stroll around the harbour for a good thirty minutes looking at the boats, and occasionally seals, herons and cormorants too.

Keep forgetting how beautiful the harbour is and it's an inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours. We normally stop for coffee and ice cream but there are lots of lovely restaurants and bars with Harbour views.

We had a nice walk along the marina and despite being a cold winter day it was romantic and we accidentally stumbled upon a great Greek restaurant too which was a bonus.

Ramsgate needs sprucing up a lot. It's very clear to see that it is a very neglected and deprived part of Kent. The famous photo of the harbour is not as exciting in person. Nothing here to excite people but plenty to depress them. The...More

A great very busy harbour. Totally full with private pleasure boats. A real old fashioned seaside harbour.

Having grown up in Ramsgate I am a little biased about the harbour which always held an interest, and even now that I live away from the town. Latest visit was just before Christmas and saw how boat owners had added to the festive cheer...More

Went to the harbour last. Mild night. Lights were excellent and the boat owners had excelled themselves. Lots of people around and businesses had also dressed their cafes etc. Had a drink in Enotica- a small café bar with a friendly atmosphere.

Came to Ramsgate especially to see the boats in the harbour all lit up. We weren't disappointed, the boat owners make a real effort & the result is magical.

Interesting place to visit. Always something to see. A working harbour with boats serving the wind farm and also plenty of yachts and motor cruisers. The Arches contain a number of cafes/ restaurants, picture gallery, artist studio, curiosity shops. Certainly a place to browse.
