This excellent store features every sort of treasure. It is in a elegantly restored bank, and is very clean and well organized. But it also offers luggage/baggage storage for Old Town visitors, at an excellent price, just £3 for carry-on size, and £5 for larger. Very helpful with assisting and documenting. The staff went far beyond mere service when we needed help with transport after Uber failed to connect on our account. I cannot say enough about their kindness. I wish we had made more time for shopping their unique and interesting merchandise.

I love coming here to find quirky gifts and to support small businesses. The warehouse is clean and spacious. It’s always fun to come here to rummage for gifts for those who can be hard to buy for. Another bonus is that the cafe serves multiple gluten free options a rare find in places of this type!

It is a some long while since I last visited this particular Robins Nest off Oakley Road, what with the Covid lock-down and life in general getting in the way... but I popped over today to catch up with my brother and have a cuppa in the cafe..and what a difference met my eyes.

As an antiques & collectibles emporium the standard has really picked up and whereas it was always fun to wander up & down the aisles seeing what was on offer amongst a number of stalls that were obviously just car booters offering their wares in and amongst a few serious dealers, now, I noticed that the serious dealers are very much the norm.. and my visit was all the better for that.

Some stalls now are both brilliantly & engagingly appointed and well stocked and it is obvious that a real effort is being made on many dealership fronts.. and it shows,

But by far the greatest improvement was over in the cafe in the corner.

Served by two very friendly, efficient & helpful young ladies behind the counter, my brother & I ordered lattes and bacon butties.. and I have to say they were the best I have ever tasted.. soft white bread, gorgeous, perfectly cooked bacon,, and tons of it.. in fact, the most filled bacon butties I've ever consumed. Just excellent!

The coffees too were superb.. very hot & very creamy.. and all very reasonably priced...so when in that part of Southampton in the future, Robin's cafe will very much now be my 'go to' stop-off for a break...thank you so much!

Having trawled the Internet for places to visit after lock down Robins Nest was on our list and what a great space to wonder through. All the requirement of social distancing and hand sanitizing have been adhered to and the place is bright and very clean.
There is ample space to look at the very mixed items, old, new, large and small, in fact almost anything you might expect to find in this type of Emporium.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is also a good cuppa and cake option available, very welcome on a warm or wet day especially.
There is also another Robins Nest Emporium on the High Street in Southampton which is also well worth a visit, although smaller it too offers a good variety of items and that welcome cuppa.

Real shame, whole visit ruined by the woman serving at the main desk (short hair elderly) . It was not busy today , I asked if I could make a cheeky offer of £10 for a (quite well overpriced ) second hand jumper priced at £22 ? There wasn’t even a hint of a haggle or barter just a flat no lol! Then I watched as she bluntly refused to sell another woman a brooch as it had no ticket (the woman even said she knew the stall she’d picked it from) and it was not busy. I think she just couldn’t be bothered . The cafe was nice though hence two stars.

I love this place. However, I found out that some of the traders aren’t getting paid for their sales. This made me very upset that the money for handmade and antique things isn’t going to where it should do. I will no longer be shopping here as I know my money won’t go where it’s suppose to. Even some of the cafe staff haven’t been paid, which is disgusting. Such a shame , as I used to shop here all the time.

Excellent emporium with so many great stalls holders with an amazing choice of stock. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Sadly the cafe lets it down. Limited menu with basic items often unavailable or not being served.

Fascinating what people are selling, brings back some amazing memories of things we used & loved in the past, rather entertaining too (we actually thought we were the bees knees).
Good selection with reasonable prices.
They do a tasty line in bacon sarnies as well !

A collection of interesting items some old some new. Very relaxed, no pressure from stall holders, friendly staff who are willing to open cabinets without making you feel you should buy what you look at. Great choice in the café. Will definitely revisit.
