It's strange but prohibition in the United States during the 20s did great things for drinks and drinking culture. Bad tasting bathtub gins forced bartenders to find exciting new ways to flavour drinks and the police constantly on the prowl for bootlegged booze drove people underground, creating their own a secret world that celebrated the sharing of drinks and company. The speakeasy was born. At BYOC we strive to deliver everything that was great about the speakeasy without the danger of being busted by the coppers at any moment. Simply bring a bottle of your favourite spirit to one of our hidden away haunts and have our team of skilled bartenders, armed with an exciting array of homemade syrups, juices and bitters fix you something that really tickles your fancy, whether your taste buds are lusting after a classic or something a little more adventurous. So for an evening of flavour, frivolity and fedoras unlike any other, look no further than BYOC. The spirit of the speakeasy.

We went to BYOC for a friends birthday as a group of 10 on a Friday evening and weren’t disappointed! It’s a really quirky little place and tricky to find (despite us all being local!) but we got loads for our money and the staff...More

Went for a friends birthday, it is £25 each plus you have to take your own spirits. We took a shoulder bottle of captain morgans and a 70cl bottle of gin which worked out perfectly. We had about 4 drinks plus a fishbowl, all of...More

Went here last weekend with 2 friends. The place is a tiny bit difficult to find (given that it looks just like a closed shop) but not as hard as others are suggesting. Hint: If you're on the right street, there is a number 41...More

At first I was cautious of the business model, I pay someone to serve me my alcohol, but having visited it’s awesome! Quality cocktails, great personal service will ensure you have a great night. Be warned though, have something to eat before you go!!!!

While this might be difficult to find (I'll give you a clue - read the details on the website), it's well worth finding. The quality of the cocktail does depend on the quality of the alcohol, so bring something you enjoy drinking. But this is...More

We booked a 2 hour slot in BYOC and couldn't even get into the building. It took us ages to find the place as no one was answering the phones to help us, and then when we did finally find the place we couldn't even...More

Decent date night but felt pressured to leave, which tainted the evening. Good cocktails but felt we left with less than we should have.

I came with a group of 8 girls for my birthday. Khan was our bartender. Lovely man! He asked us our preferances sweet or sour and also made a cocktail for us by request. We had a great time but one negative is that the...More

I agree with some of the other reviews that say it is expensive for what it is as you pay £25 and bring the alcohol yourself. It is also difficult to find. However the bar staff were great and so were the cocktails. Probably something...More

Some of the fun is in finding it! The address is 41 Meeting House Ln, BN1 1HW, but you'll want to give yourself some time to look and search for something odd or out of place - you're looking for an 'authentic' speakeasy... More
