Brighton beach is really lovely. It has a lovely back drop of white cliffs. There is always someone picking rubbish up to keep it clean. The only downside is the stoney beach, really sore on your feet. Best take some beach shoes before you go.

A must see for nostalgia, quirky shops and stall and some amazing sea food. A nice walk at night or day; live musicand restaurants. Goes well with the pier and is free.

The beach looked fantastic, we walked alongside it on a sunny day and then went by it on a drizzly windy day. Unfortunately it wasn't the weather for a swim.

Love Brighton, we come here at least 3-4 times a year, and love the variety of activities, independent shops and people! Everyone from all walks of life, shapes, sizes, styles, colours... everyone is given a welcome here. Even like the pebbled beach, sand is overrated!

Brighton council should be ashamed of themselves. The beach was disgusting with plastic bags, broked bottles, plastic cartons and bottles, remnants of illicit activities and stench of urine from the Grand Hotel to the pier. There were only local volunteers trying to clear up. There...More

You can get snowfall the further north you go so Manchester would be the better option. It does snow in Brighton but cannot be guaranteed.
