Even on a windy day in October we had a good time walking barefoot in the sand and paddling. Even enjoyed an ice cream. Wind was blowing sand across the beach but not up. It was easier coming back towards the pier with the wind behind us!

Bournemouth beach is so quiet but yet so whimsical, however my perception of this poignant fever-dream was brutally crushed by a lifeguard. This lifeguard told me the other beach-goers were not actually “paid-actors” but “actual members of the public”. This broke my small southern heart as I pondered where I would have to take my antics of robbing old people and stamping on thier hands. No longer could I scream in the face of the general public, and lob dog faeces of their cars. THIS WAS HEARTBREAKING. The magic witchdoctor gave me a “special packet of spice/s” to calm my nerves, although I wonder what witchdoctor wears north face and airmax. Overall 7/10 love screaming at old people

A beautiful beach but once actually sat down, there's endless amounts of lighters, cigarette buts, and bits of rubbish. It'd be so much better if it was cleaner. However the fairground rides were great and some really nice restaurants and bars surrounding beach and nearby

Omg, what a spectacular beach. Beautiful golden sands and miles long. As spring, weather not perfect beach weather but sunny day, dogs loving the beach and very relaxing walk along great promenade. Best beach in UK

My wife and I stayed in Bournemouth East Cliff hotel ( 5 minutes walking distance ) from the beach … amazing and highly recommended hotel! My wife and I are Portuguese and Brazilian l, we love beaches and this one definitely has amazing experiences you can share with people … one of them , is the location, where easily you can in 10 minutes walking distance to be in the central of the city or to your hotel. Another good thing is the food market that they have on Sunday and guess what … there was a Brazilian food market that of corse we had to try and felt satisfied! Love that they have something similar to the London eye in London here close to the beach, where you can experience the view . Another thing is the golf play field that had amazing “pirate” vibe for adults and children ( family to spend time together) After all of this, you still have the pier of Bournemouth, to walk inside the platform you will pay £1,75 but well worth it, which gives you access to a mini theme park and there is a bar/ coffee shop in the middle for you to enjoy refreshment drinks , cakes, English food, etc Highly recommended for anyone to come !

Probably the cleanest beach on the South Coast. Plenty of eateries and bars. Plus things nearby to keep you entertained, like the zip wire. Sand seems to get raked over every night. The Council are always working on things during the winter to keep the place nice (and functional). Lots of beach huts if that's your thing. Limited parking if you want to be central (e.g. close to Bournemouth Pier).

Beautiful sandy beaches. Plenty to do around Bournemouth Pier. Great vibes for the younger generation and quieter as you walk towards boscombe and beyond. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Toilets and shower facilities plentiful along the walk. Games along the beach and water sports. Land train if you don’t fancy walking. Well worth a visit

Glorious sandy beach with shallow sea and no rocks. Sadly, mostly down from high cliffs which meant a tiring walk back uphill. The lift cost over £4 one way. All food and drinks on the seafront were really expensive as was the loungers and umbrellas.

We visited after dropping off our duaghter at Uni. It was a beautifully sunny late Summers day in September so out of main holiday season and despite the great weather the beach was relatively unpopulated. Only gripe was that where we accessed midway between Bournemouth and Boscombe pier there was nothing open. Would have expected an opportunist ice-cream van at the very least but not even that - pity as we would have loved to buy an ice-cream and strolled. Instead sat on breakwater with feet dabbling in oncoming waves and enjoyed the views for a bit.
