This is an all day tour of several Devon vineyards. During the day you have an opportunity to learn the growing of vines in Devon, the making of wine from those grapes and you also get to taste a lot of different types and varieties of wine. Overall we had a lovely whole day out made all the better by an excellent host for the tour Neil. He organised the tour, drove the transport, answered our questions, introduced us to the wine growers and makers and created a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Learning about the growing of the vines and the wine making processes was very interesting. We particularly enjoyed the wine tasting with the sparkling varieties being a real highlight. The fact that you have a driver means you can visit a number of vineyards and test all of the wines without worrying about one of you having to drive. We arrived home very satisfied with our day out and a little bit of a rosy glow. PS It did rain a bit on our visit which did not spoil the day at all, but did reinforce the need to wear footwear that is suitable for walking in longish grass between the vines.
