A fantastic fews hours looking around. You can take the dog in every part even the shop and cafe. Meet Lady Courtenay or AJ as she likes to be called.

Set in beautiful grounds, this castle is a real gem. Visits are by guided tour only so probably best to book your tours (there are 2, one called the upstairs/downstairs tour and the other is the state room tour) online in advance. Very knowledgeable guides...More

Normally prefer to go round unguided but as this is not an option at Powderham did the 2 tours which lasted over 2 hours well worth while. Packed with historical fact, interesting tales and humour. Shame they don't allow photography in house as guide book...More

From the beautiful grounds to the historic rooms inside, this is a great visit. The tour guide gave us lots of interesting information as we went from room to room. There is a deer park and a childrens play area as well

Had a very relaxed informative tour of the Castle today. Our guide Lynne was excellent and held our attention as well as showing the huge affection that she has for this lovely house and gardens.

This castle is amazing. Lovely atmosphere there. Family photos around comfy settees in the rooms. Obviously a well loved family home. Helpful guides, lovely grounds too.

Most of the area is fenced because it is a Deer Park... but by the Restaurant and shops there is a natural car park with quite a large area where I have noticed people walking their dogs from cars parked there.
