This is the remains of an Artillery Fort, built in 16th century to protect from any unwelcome visitors - Visitors are Welcome there now! The ground floor remains area is where the Gun Ports, they make interesting frames to take photos of the river Dart.

When visiting Dartmouth we always walk onto Bayards Cove and further to the fort. It's an interesting place for adults and children to see and gives a fantastic view up and down the River Dart.

Very nice place but nothing special. There was no signs to the place after we crossed the river so we had to look around the streets and corners to find it.

Great views out to the mouth of the river Dart. The fort played an important last line of defence of the town.

We stumbled on this while walking around. Lovely views and it is well preserved but there were used needles lying around. My baby is in a pushchair but for other kids or people in soft shoes it could have been a problem.

tucked away but is a must see if you like history, is quite well preserved, maintained to a good standard, not a rainy day activity though
