Been promising I would visit one day and glad I made the time whilst in the area. Every bit as stunning as photographs- unique in everyway and such a large 'Church' for such a small city is astonishing. History abounds and a breath taking example...More

Ely Cathedral is a wonderful place, full of history and one of the most colourful ceilings I have experienced in a cathedral. Our guide brought the whole place to life and pointed out many sights that we would have otherwise missed. She also showed how...More

Ask for your years pass with your ticket if you are local and visit as often as you like for one payment. Amazing building something to interest everyone. Even our teenage nieces loved the age of it.

This a one the most beautiful cathedrals we have visited. Not overly expensive unless you want to do the full tour. Lovely stain glass windows including one for the RAF.

It is well worth going into the cathedral if you are in Ely. The octogon is magnificent. It is also possible to climb the tower if you are feeling energetic and this gives you a great view of the town.

Had an opportunity to look round Ely and it's cathedral whilst visiting Ely folk festival this weekend. What a wonderful , incredible building. Huge, soaring vaults inside the cathedral on a site that seems to have been used for religious purposes since the 600's. As...More

Not too far, about ten or fifteen minutes, along the river, then through the gardens and park, and along The Gallery to the West door.
