    Spooky Valentine's Day Fun!
Myself and my partner attended the Love tour last evening as something different and affordable to do for Valentine's Day. We had already been to Arnos Vale before, both independently and as part of the Murder, Mystery and Mayhem tour back in November. Charlotte is a brilliant guide, clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about Arnos Vale and cemeteries in general. It's a lovely way to spend an hour, would definitely recommend if you are interested in history and looking for something a bit more on the unusual side to do in Bristol! I'm sure we will be back for more tours/general visits :) thank you!

Saturday Group Tour led by Alex
We did the 13.30 Saturday Group Tour which was led by Alex. She was an excellent & very knowledgeable guide. We had a very informative & interesting 90 mins walk around various parts of the Cemetery. We had never been before but will return for a casual stroll. We took our dog along & finished the afternoon with cake & tea in their cafe.

    An absolute treasure!
This should be one of the most popular sights in Bristol, wandering round this afternoon was truly delightful. The overgrown parts as well as the more manicured bits are all beautiful and atmospheric in equal measure. Can’t believe I’d never been here until today!

A place so popular that people were disinterring their relatives so they could be reburied there!
200,000 souls are interred in this beautiful parkland; an amazing site that was saved from developers and obscurity by the local community. I can recommend the tours, the cafe, their events like outdoor film screenings/talks, or just a quiet wander. Spot the war graves in the over grown areas, that are maintained by the war graves commission, moments of tidy in the wildness. The staff are wonderful and the exhibits are so informative. I've been to talks about cannibalism and Crimean War-era field surgery. I just love this wonderful place so much! Get yourself down!

The best evening with an incredible guide!
We visited the cemetery for a Morbid Curiosity tour last night. What a night! Our guide, Emily, was so knowledgeable and funny! I didn’t expect to learn so much and she was so respectful with all the stories of residents. I went with a small group of friends and we have all agreed we want to go back in the day and see more (and experience the legendary brownies at the cafe!) 10/10 would recommend!

Interesting tour in a beautiful, natural setting
We had a fantastic tour of the cemetery led by Alex. Alex was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide who also tailored the tour to it being a very wet day! We learned a lot of interesting information while looking round the beautiful cemetery, we are definitely keen to do this tour again as well as all the others offered (murder and mayhem sounds unusual!), it is good there is such variety. Before the tour I had a look round the shop and bought some Christmas cards before heading to the café where I enjoyed a hot chocolate.

    This Beautiful Oasis In Bristol
This is definitely a place to visit and take in the history of Bristol. The cemetery is a beautiful place for a walk and reflect on those that have passed. The work to restore this important site is to be commended and supported. The cafe (and toilets) are clean and made a great stop during our visit. Vegan and gluten free products available

What an interesting and peaceful place; a wildlife haven amongst the hustle and bustle of Bristol. We had the 90 minute introductory tour (booked online through their website), which covered everything we wanted to know. Our guide was brilliant; she was lovely, very knowledgeable, provided very interesting information and answered all the questions we had. They do various tours, including a night time bat tour, and I will certainly be going on another one in the future.

There is limited parking in the cemetery but we parked easily. We also had some lovely cake and coffee in the cafe. The whole cemetery and cafe seating area outside (under cover) is dog friendly too.

I've always loved Arnos Vale cemetery, so when I heard they were doing tours, I got very excited. I went on the 'Morbid Curiosity Tour' led by Charlotte and it was such a lovely experience. She was so friendly and knowledgeable and very keen to personalise the event to our preferences. I discovered loads of tales of people who've lived and died in Bristol and some amazing information was delivered in an easy to understand format. Charlotte was keen that we all enjoyed ourselves and it's obvious that she loves what she does. I'm definitely going to book one of the other tours now. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening.

We had a brilliant evening with Charlotte on the Murder, Mystery and Mayhem tour. She is really knowledgeable and passionate about all things Arnos Vale which brought the subject to life (no pun intended). It's a peaceful place and it was fascinating to learn more about it. Thanks Charlotte for a fantastic time.

Charlotte was an absolutely stellar guide, her passion enthusiasm and knowledge about the place and people within was peerless. If it was possible to give 6 stars for the tour I had (21/01/23) I would give that.

I will be recommending the tour to many others and hope to go back again for some of the other tours that focus on different aspects of the cemetery.

It was fantastic to hear the stories behind the monuments and also hear about the people that made the place what it is. Charlotte was a fountain of information and only too happy to answer our questions. Her unbridled enthusiasm for helping people to learn more and informative anecdotes really made it a (excuse the pun) memorial experience!

Sculpture Tour.
What a fabulous way to spend 90 minutes.
I have visited Arnos Vale numerous times many times. I first really visited just after lockdown and a bit of inner city space.
I find the walks, foliage, pathways and more calming and peaceful.
Have also watched a Shakespeare show here.
However, I always found the many types of gravestones and sculptures fascinated so today did their Sculpture Tour.
The guide was excellent.
1. Great knowledge.
2. Real group engagement.
4. Perfectly paced walk.
Has encouraged me to come back even more and to do further tours.
Thank you to all.

My friend and I met my daughter at the Arnos Vale Cafe and, after a refreshing cuppa, we wandered around the cemetery, amazed at the hugeness of it all, the beautiful rewilding that's been allowed to proliferate, fantastic flowers, shrubs and trees everywhere, and especially the banks of wild garlic wherever you look! Amazing and wonderful.! We also went down into the basement to have a look at the historic crematorium part, with the burner, trolley, coffin lift etc. So mind-blowing! We'll be back again before long!

A proper booked tour is definitely the way to go!! Charlotte our guide was so knowledgeable and fun, friendly and quirky giving our gang exactly what we needed from the tour. Then Elspeth at the shop capped it all off with some extras and again, was so enthusiastic and helpful. What a lovely afternoon. Thank you so much!

A friend and I went on the Saturday tour today and it was excellent.
The tour guide Charlotte was incredibly well informed not only about the Cemetery but also the history of death rites throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries.
The tour was interesting, engaging and full with unique infornation. It incorporated a leisurely walk and talks about the history of the cemetery, specific graves, social history, architecture and much more
The cemetery is absolutely beautiful and is especially pretty at this time of year with an astounding range of flora and fauna.
I would absolutely recommend this as an interesting activity at any time of the year.

Interesting place to find out about Bristol's social history and to explore the stonemasons' skill. The lovely Volunteer Coordinator took some time to tell us about the history of the cemetery and pointed out some key graves before we set off on the 'Deadly' trail. Fantastic!

An informative 90 minute tour from Maggie around some of the many interesting features of this historical site. It was definitely worth having the guided tour. The visit itself reflected many changes in our society and rituals since Victorian time. Interesting to see that there was a wedding happening during our tour but it did mean the cafe was closed.
